Some hackery is necessary to convince your browser to no longer send your id and password (that's what logged in means with HTTP basic authentication). Zope's logout page uses "<dtml-raise Unauthorized>" for this hackery. You will get an "unauthorized" whatever you give as user/password. But most browsers forget the old login information after you gave them once a new one (which, of course, fails too). Zope crashing (still)

After applying some CVS updates to PythonScripts as posted (last week I believe), I was hoping Zope wouldn't crash. Modifying form input which is passed as a record

Hi, I have a form that passes info as a record with the following type of info: [a: 'bob', b: 'silver', a: 'trev', b: 'gold', a: 'nig', b: 'bronze', a:'lee', b:'gold'] I want to work thru this info and pick out all the records with a key 'b' equal to 'gold'. I want to place this into a new key-value record (or list?) to use later. So it would create: [a: 'trev', b: 'gold', a:'lee', b:'gold'] I cant work out how to do this. My main problem is inserting key names to make the key-value pairs. I have got around this by creating a list within a list but this has no keys: [ ['trev','gold'], ['lee','gold'] ] Thanks for any ideas. Richard

There are some factors which need to be taken into account and which are very project specific. - ten thousand hits a day are in most cases not distributed uniformly across the day. For instance we have a site which gets hit like hell when people come into their offices in the morning, - Response time matters. We are working on a zope project where all menus are built dynamically by iterating through zclasses in a folder. Everything is quite modular. When benchmarking this on a relativly slow (PII-350 + 64mb) Server I got 4 hits a second, *but* max. answer times between 1 and 2 seconds. - There's the possibility of using a reverse proxy. I configured apaches mod proxy with the above mentioned setup and got 500 hits/second on the same hardware. But this kind of caching my not always be feasible. cheers, oliver

hasRole is just there to confuse... use: _.SecurityGetUser().has_role('Manager', index_html) instead. page templates!?

forgive my ignorance, but I do not obtain to make my templates to function. template does not read the data of the master template.
