For questions like these take a look at the valuable searchable archieves at http://zope.nipltd.com/public/lists.html because it's clearly something nearly every zopista hits against in his learning process. For instance searching for passing AND values AND method brought a heap of answers to this question. Passing Variable to multiple objects within a page

I want to be able to have a one page that for example has a table (a search interface made from a SQL method) and the chart (GDChart) of related information. I know how to pass the variable to one of these objects from a hyperlink on previous page however I want to pass the variable to both objects on this pass. i.e. This works for one object <a href="<dtml-var r-qty_contacts url>?Company.Name=<dtml-var name>">Number of Contacts in Company</a><BR> r-qty_contacts is a search interface based on a search method setup with a parameter of Company.Name. I pass the name to r-qty_contacts from the previous page. Really I would like to pass Company.Name on to multiple objects on a dtml document. Any wisdom anyone can provide would be most appreciated. Someone knows how to insert a user in acl_users.manager_users?? Without using the Zope Manager interface, of course, I want to make a site that insert users... with permissions and everything else... But I can`t send parameters to it. FYI, I'm using python stored procedures, they are very cool. Postgres has several nice features above and beyond just plain RDBMS stuff (i.e. objects). -Randy

Assuming the id is an int in the database, you need to change the checkbox names to "ids:int:list" which I believe will result in a list of ints being passed to the SQL method. I would suggest flattening your loop, like this: <form action="myaction"> <table> <dtml-in expr="_.range(100)"> <dtml-if expr="_['sequence-index'] % 10 == 0"> <dtml-unless sequence-start> </tr> </dtml-unless> <tr> </dtml-if> <td><input type="text" name="box:list" size="3"></td> </dtml-in> </tr> </table> </form> This will create 100 (or any number) of input boxes. It's also easier to change how many boxes you want per line, just change the 10 in the if statement. You can also more easily support a total number of boxes that isn't a multiple of your row length. By naming the input boxes "box:list", a single sequence named box will be passed to your method "myaction". Why of course! I want to create a table of input boxes. The way I wanted to do this was by creating a row of boxes, then going to the next row and creating ten more boxes. In the course of writing this, I couldn't remember what I had originally done that didn't work. But in trying to duplicate it, it does work now: <table> <dtml-in "_.range(10)"> <tr> <dtml-in "_.range(10)"> <td><form> <input type=text name="foo" size=3> </dtml-in> </dtml-in> </table> Of course, at this point, using this code, I have 100 input boxes with the same name. How do I introduce a counter that will give me 100 different names for the boxes (or whatever number of boxes the user wants to create)? Thanks for your help.
