I guess I meant how do you know that "getpath" is unlikely to have caused the exception? I knew that this line raised the exception, but why couldn't it have come from "getpath"? I'm trying here to get at that experienced programmer thinking that says to you "that seems unlikely". Are you trusting that I haven't messed around with the catalog (given my inexperience, _that_ seems likely, and I haven't)? Presumably, in the default configuration, the catalog is viewable by all users, including "Anonymous", and as far as I know, that hasn't been modified. But isn't "getpath" going to cause an "Unauthorized" exception if the object referred to by "data_record_id" in that particular iteration of the loop is inaccessible, and not just if the catalog itself is inaccessible? It turns out that users want to secure some folders from general access, which was not part of our original design, so the original programmer didn't take it into account. Returning to page after updating database

Hello, I have a small problem that I cannot figure out. I display a form for editing some data. When the submit button is hitted, a method is called that first calls the SQL method for updating the database, then calls a page that I want to return to. But it never returns. Hi everyone. I'm new to the list (and zope) and is trying to determine whether we should you Zope or not for an Intranet site we wish to deploy. I'm still not familiar with Zope but has been encountered it as alternative to using the apache and stuff. Would anyone tell me the PROs and CONs of using zope for an Intranet? How does it compare with using apache. Btw, among our concerns is that some of the intranet nodes will be using a touchscreen interface. Will that matter when considering zope. Updating multiple fields in the same Z SQL Method

How do you update several fields in the same SQL method ? I just entered something like this: Update <table> set <field>=<dmtl data> where <field>=<dtml data> Update <table> set <field>=<dmtl data> where <field>=<dtml data> But I get an error because Zope just sees it as a whole line. Thanks, Dieter. 1) Is fine, assuming the ZSQL method is there. 2) The best of my options - I didn't even think of it. 3) Uh, that sounds like some deep zope wizardry. I'm still working on OFS.SimpleItem :) 4) I suppose I could even make my product inherit from an ObjectManager and let it contain ZSQL Methods - didnt' think of this one either, 'till now. Loginmanager and Windows ME

Hi there, Has anyone out there ever installed "Loginmanger" on a windows ME platform? I've been trying to do it all weekend but to no avail..... Zpatterns is giving me a traceback error stating that "dynpersist" cannot be found (ImportError). Now I've checked the "Zope mail archives" & found several messages from users who are having the same problem.....but unfortunately I can't find any solutions posted! I did notice a message stating that I had to build/compile the dynpersist component first.....and a Linux how-to for this..... but how do I do this in ME? Can I download a pre-compiled version from somewhere? Your help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers. p.s running Zope 2.3.1 by the way.

Delete multiple posts

Hello, I have a list of items where it should be possible to delete all the items you wish. Each item have a checkbox with the value equal to them itemid. I have done this is PHP just by naming these checkboxes "deletearr[]" to make an array, then run through the array an delete each item. But how do I do the same thing in Zope ? Or - a more specifik question - can I make an array the same way in Zope that I did in PHP ?
