You can use <dtml-var REQUEST> to see precisely, what your request contains. Even better, install Shanes excellent ZDebug. Then you will see the request info (and lots more) whenever an exception is raised in a DTML object. I think the following reading will help you, too: URL:http://www.dieter.handshake.de/pyprojects/zope/book/chap3.html Dieter

Re: [Zope] Getting a date into an object title - DISREGARD
by complaw＠hal-pc.org 30 Mar '01

Therapy or not, I spoke too soon. I did manage to get a time in as part of the title. Unfortunately, the time that I got was ZopeTime(). What I want to get in is the time (really a date) set by the user. This date is taken in as input from the form page, it is then sent to a DTML Method that then calls the Python script. As I mentioned before, the parameter in question is "contact_date". If I try to set myTitle = '%d' % contact_date then I get an error. However, if I try to set myTitle = '%d' % report_title then I don't get an error. The report_title parameter was set in the DTML Method that was called by the HTML form. that code is <dtml-let report_title="ZopeTime()"> Unfortunately, if I set <dtml-let report_title=contact_date> I get an error. Note, the </dtml-let> is AFTER the call to the python script. Is there something I'm missing? I think, you need to use the PropertySheet interface (Zope Help->API Reference->PropertySheet) to add properties to a property sheet. Dieter

After Dark writes: > In my example, below, the paremeter is a folder... but it > only works (list the objects) if the folder is in the root > directory, else doesn`t work. I tried things like > 'directory/parameter' or 'directory.parameter' but didn`t > work. > > <dtml-in expr="_.getitem('parameter').objectValues()"> > </dtml-in> The '...' around "parameter" are strange: "_.getitem('parameter')" is equivalent to "parameter". Otherwise, your statement is strange. What object type contains the "dtml-in" (a DTML Method or Document)? What happens precisely: you do not get any content? If you use the code above, then the "in" body is empty, thus, you won't see something. But I assume, this is just a typo and not your real problem. Try to add a "&dtml-parameter;" before the "in". It will show you the object type, "parameter" is bound to. Maybe, you get an unexpected "parameter". Dieter

ASHISHRANJAN_V writes: > I tried mapping the share and then use the LocalFS . > The server is running on windows. > I get the error : > Error Type: OSError > Error Value: [Errno 5] Input/output error This problem has nothing to do with Zope. The code tries to read or write and gets an "input/output error" from the underlaying C library. This may happen, if a communication channel got closed, the file system is full or similar problems. I cannot believe that it happens in an External Method, too. They are completely unrestricted... Or, to say it differently: I use "open" in External Methods over and over again without any problem. Zope Products and SQL
by Farrell, Troy 30 Mar '01

30 Mar '01

I haven't seen this mentioned and I didn't find it in the archive, so I feel inclined to ask: Is there any way (aside from importing database modules ie PoPy) to execute SQL from a Zope Product? Is it feasible to make the product inherit from ZSQL methods and have them that way, or it is just easiest to use ZClasses? I use SQL in almost everything, but I also like Products and want to know the best way to mix them. Thanks. Troy

searching a Z-Catalog for a range of values
by Tom Palermo 30 Mar '01

Does anyone know how I can search a Z-Catalog for a using a time range. I tried to do the following but it doesn't seem to work: <dtml-in "catalog(bobobase_modification_time=_.ZopeTime( )-1, bobobase_modification_time_usage='range:max') I got this code snippet from the Advanced Z-Catalog Searching How To. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. email me at tom(a)bcswebservices.net
