Let's clarify that here...large tables not lots of tables. As I showed in my earlier messages in the *BIG* thread, a large table (31000 records) may take 15 minutes+ to render whereas the same data parsed into 300 tables renders very quickly (seconds). >>>-----Original Message----- >>>From: Andy McKay [mailto:andym@ActiveState.com] >>>Sent: Wednesday, March 21, 2001 12:17 PM >>>To: Mayers, Philip J; 'Capesius, Alan'; zope(a)zope.org >>>Subject: Re: How slow should dtml-var be? Thank you, Brian. Finally, after too many pointless discussions and a lot of wasted time dealing with patches, we have a positive response from DC. I wonder where you guys were last month when we had the same discussion. Back then all we got from DC was a very loud silence. But that's behind us now. DocumentTemplate and ZPublisher

Hello, I'd like to use only DocumentTemplate and ZPublisher in a python software (to help publishing modules), in order to avoid having the whole Zope to launch just to use its modules publishing and HTML document templates capabilities. Anyone have yet tried that ? Is there a solution ? Thanks, EB. -- Éric BARROCA <eric(a)barroca.net> No to Software Patents : <http://petition.eurolinux.org>

ZSQL Advice needed - no results, one match, multiple matches
by sdduncan＠indiana.edu 22 Mar '01

I would like to query a mysql database for a persons ID number for further processing. I have them enter their Last Name into a form (actually they can enter the first few letters of their name and I use the like operator). Please enter your last name _______ [submit] If there are no matches I want to print out that fact IF there is one match I want to display the results of an sql query based on the personID If there is more than one match I want to bring up a selection box so they can select the correct name and than get the results from that personID What I tried was using sequence-length like: <dtml-if "_[sequence-length']==1"> Display information about the Person <dtml-if "_['sequence-length'] > 1"> Put up a selection box <dtml-else> Sorry we did not find a match in our database </dtml-if> But this approach does not work. <dtml-else> is never seen. When I have done this before (using PHP) I could check on the results from $num = mysql_num_rows($queryHandle) I get the feeling I am pounding away with my php hammer when there is a better zope nail out there. What would be the Zope way to do this? -Shan

That's a good question... ;-) You can change it using the zpasswd utility in the Zope directory, ala: python zpasswd.py --user=admin --password=123 inituser ----- Original Message ----- From: "Glenn Emery" <gemery(a)uswest.net> To: "Chris McDonough" <chrism(a)digicool.com> Sent: Thursday, March 22, 2001 3:40 PM Subject: Re: [Zope] Install Apache Problem > Darn....I've got it working now (seemed to have fixed itself) and now I > cannot find any mention of the default user name and password...hehehe... > > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Chris McDonough" <chrism(a)digicool.com> > To: "Glenn Emery" <gemery(a)uswest.net> > Cc: <zope(a)zope.org> > Sent: Thursday, March 22, 2001 2:11 PM > Subject: Re: [Zope] Install Apache Problem > > > > This must be a product of how it was configured... we don't distribute the > > RPM install, so I'm not sure how it's set up. > > > > ----- Original Message ----- > > From: "Glenn Emery" <gemery(a)uswest.net> > > To: "Chris McDonough" <chrism(a)digicool.com> > > Sent: Thursday, March 22, 2001 3:19 PM > > Subject: Re: [Zope] Install Apache Problem > > > > > > > Hi Chris, > > > > > > I was going to http://www.ssatech.com > > > > > > I found Zope at https://www.ssatech.com any reason why it inherited > SSL? > > > > > > Thanks! > > > > > > Glenn > > > ----- Original Message ----- > > > From: "Chris McDonough" <chrism(a)digicool.com> > > > To: "Glenn Emery" <gemery(a)uswest.net>; <zope(a)zope.org> > > > Sent: Thursday, March 22, 2001 1:48 PM > > > Subject: Re: [Zope] Install Apache Problem > > > > > > > > > > Hi Glenn, > > > > > > > > This is the standard error message raised when an action can't be > > > completed > > > > due to a missing or incorrect component somewhere in your URL. > > > > > > > > What URL are you visiting? > > > > > > > > ----- Original Message ----- > > > > From: "Glenn Emery" <gemery(a)uswest.net> > > > > To: <zope(a)zope.org> > > > > Sent: Thursday, March 22, 2001 3:08 PM > > > > Subject: [Zope] Install Apache Problem > > > > > > > > > > > > > Good Day, > > > > > > > > > > I have recently installed Zope-2.3.0-1.i386.rpm and > > > > > Zope-pcgi-2.3.0-1.i386.rpm on RedHat 7 with Apache 1.3.12 and have a > > > > problem > > > > > with reaching my server and get an > > > > > "Zope Error > > > > > Zope has encountered an error while publishing this resource. > > > > > Resource not found > > > > > Sorry, the requested Zope resource does not exist. > > > > > Check the URL and try again. > > > > > > > > > > Troubleshooting Suggestions > > > > > The URL may be incorrect. > > > > > The parameters passed to this resource may be incorrect. > > > > > A resource that this resource relies on may be encountering an > error. > > > > > For more detailed information about the error, please refer to the > > HTML > > > > > source for this page. > > > > > If the error persists please contact the site maintainer. This must be a product of how it was configured... we don't distribute the RPM install, so I'm not sure how it's set up. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Glenn Emery" <gemery(a)uswest.net> To: "Chris McDonough" <chrism(a)digicool.com> Sent: Thursday, March 22, 2001 3:19 PM Subject: Re: [Zope] Install Apache Problem > Hi Chris, > > I was going to http://www.ssatech.com > > I found Zope at https://www.ssatech.com any reason why it inherited SSL? > > Thanks! > > Glenn > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Chris McDonough" <chrism(a)digicool.com> > To: "Glenn Emery" <gemery(a)uswest.net>; <zope(a)zope.org> > Sent: Thursday, March 22, 2001 1:48 PM > Subject: Re: [Zope] Install Apache Problem > > > > Hi Glenn, > > > > This is the standard error message raised when an action can't be > completed > > due to a missing or incorrect component somewhere in your URL. > > > > What URL are you visiting? > > > > ----- Original Message ----- > > From: "Glenn Emery" <gemery(a)uswest.net> > > To: <zope(a)zope.org> > > Sent: Thursday, March 22, 2001 3:08 PM > > Subject: [Zope] Install Apache Problem > > > > > > > Good Day, > > > > > > I have recently installed Zope-2.3.0-1.i386.rpm and > > > Zope-pcgi-2.3.0-1.i386.rpm on RedHat 7 with Apache 1.3.12 and have a > > problem > > > with reaching my server and get an > > > "Zope Error > > > Zope has encountered an error while publishing this resource. > > > Resource not found > > > Sorry, the requested Zope resource does not exist. > > > Check the URL and try again. > > > > > > Troubleshooting Suggestions > > > The URL may be incorrect. > > > The parameters passed to this resource may be incorrect. > > > A resource that this resource relies on may be encountering an error. > > > For more detailed information about the error, please refer to the HTML > > > source for this page. > > > If the error persists please contact the site maintainer.
