Search in site

Hi, I am a little new to Zope technology, and I looked for <searches> in it but all I found was serch in databases. I need to make a search in the site, looking for matches in it. I was wondering if there is no procedure or object that can do it. I need the same think as the Find of zope does. Can we have the code of it? Sugestions are welcome. :) Thanks. -- --Ricardo Kohler Costa ________________________________________________ Don't E-Mail, ZipMail! http://www.zipmail.com/

Number of threads
by Andy Gimblett 22 Mar '01

22 Mar '01

Hi all, z2.py has an option, -t. According to its internal documentaion, this controls the number of threads used if ZODB3 is used. Please could somebody explain this to me in a little more depth? Are the threads only used for interaction with ZODB? What are the pros/cons of running multiple threads? Many thanks, Andy -- Andy Gimblett <andy.gimblett(a)ftech.net> Programmer Frontier Internet Services Limited <www.frontier-internet.ltd.uk> Tel: 029 20 820 044 Fax: 029 20 820 035 Statements made are at all times subject to Frontier's Terms and Conditions of Business, which are available upon request.

zope & png images
by Andreas Prlic 22 Mar '01

22 Mar '01

Hi! I would like zope to draw a png or jpg image displaying some lines, rectangles or circles, according to some data that I retrieve from a database. The display should NOT be "statistical", as provided with gdchart. It should allow me to place graphical elements wherever I want. Is there any way to create such images "on the fly" with zope? thanks, andreas

ANNOUNCE: Zope 2.3.1 beta 3 released
by Brian Lloyd 22 Mar '01

22 Mar '01

Hello all, Zope 2.3.1 beta 3 has been released - you can download it from Zope.org: http://www.zope.org/Products/Zope/2.3.1b3/ Zope 2.3.1b3 contains a number of bug fixes, including fixes for issues found during b2 regarding ZCatalog and updating ZCatalogs to make use of new underlying data structures. For more information on upgrading ZCatalog objects, see: http://www.zope.org/Members/mcdonc/HowTos/UpgradeToNewCatalog **Users of the Zope source releases should note** that this release contains changes to existing C code. If you are using a source release (or the source diff update), be sure to run 'w_pcgi.py' or 'wo_pcgi.py' as appropriate before starting Zope to ensure that your binaries are rebuilt. For more information on what is new in this release, see the CHANGES.txt and HISTORY.txt files for the release: http://www.zope.org/Products/Zope/2.3.1b3/CHANGES.txt http://www.zope.org/Products/Zope/2.3.1b3/HISTORY.txt Note that we have also posted "diff" updates as .tgz files that will let you easily upgrade an existing 2.3.x site. These updates are available for those currently using the 2.3.x source release or the 2.3.x binary releases. To apply a differential update to your site: - download the appropriate .tgz file from zope.org - shutdown your Zope process - copy the .tgz to your Zope directory and extract it - run w_pcgi or wo_pcgi *if you are not using a binary release* - restart your process Brian Lloyd brian(a)digicool.com Software Engineer 540.371.6909 Digital Creations http://www.digicool.com

ZOPE 2.3.0 and double slash in the URL
by Marcello Lupo 22 Mar '01

22 Mar '01

Hello, using ZOpe 2.3.0 i get everytime in the variable URL (0,1,2,3,ecc..) a // between the base server name and the path. I'm using Roxen 2.1.221 with PCGI. This are my BASE and URL variables: URL0 http://xxx.xxxxx.com//cgi-bin/zope/pg/gestione/check_user URL1 http://xxx.xxxxx.com//cgi-bin/zope/pg/gestione URL2 http://xxx.xxxxx.com//cgi-bin/zope/pg URL3 http://xxx.xxxxx.com//cgi-bin/zope URL4 http://xxx.xxxxx.com//cgi-bin URL5 http://xxx.xxxxx.com/ BASE0 http://xxx.xxxxx.com//cgi-bin BASE1 http://xxx.xxxxx.com//cgi-bin/zope BASE2 http://xxx.xxxxx.com//cgi-bin/zope/pg BASE3 http://xxx.xxxxx.com//cgi-bin/zope/pg/gestione BASE4 http://xxx.xxxxx.com//cgi-bin/zope/pg/gestione/check_user So when i set a cookie with the path='/cgi-bin/zope/' the cookie is not sent if i use a redirect to URL or BASE. The problem do not show when i try to access the resource directly from zope port without PCGI. I think the problem must reside in zope becouse on another server i user the same version of roxen but Zope 2.1.6 and the URL and BASE are correct. Have you any ideas?? Best regards.
