The only problem I see are cyclical references, especially with Acquision. Could you imagine what would happen if Acquision was turned on with these things? You can check if the parent (usually a folder object, unless we are in a DTML Document, not a DTML method) has the special document object attribute. (tested) <dtml-if expr="_.hasattr(PARENTS[0], 'special_document_name')"> We have special_document <dtml-else> No joy. </dtml-if> This doesn't render the document or check to see if any of it's contents will raise a KeyError. [Announce] Squishdot 1.0.0 Released

Squishdot 1.0.0 is now available from http://www.zope.org/Members/chrisw/Squishdot/ The following major changes were made: - HTML postings are parsed to remove harmful tags. Unclosed tags are closed. - Made Squishdot work with TinyTable or TinyTablePlus. Also made Tinytables work in 2.3.0. - Reimplemented email notifications. No HTML mail is now sent. HTML in postings is converted to text before being mailed out. - Fixed KeyError problem with Re-Catalog All Postings button. - Fixed a design problem with threading. - Added Updaters to handle fixing old Squish Site instances. There many other small changes and improvements. For details, see: http://squishdot.org/Documentation/Changes This will be the last release of Squishdot to include new features. >From now on, bugs will be fixed but development work will switch to Swishdot. Access Rule won't work !? Zope 2.3.1b2

Help needed. Can't get how to handle virtual hosting :-( I do the next: 1) Create in the root folder of the Zope Python script (dtml methods won't work either) with the name 'dns_handler'.(It contains only return "I'm ruling !!!!!!!") 2) Set Access Rule with id 'dns_handler' 3) Make a request to root folder (e.g. 'http://localhost:8080/') and... finally I get my index_html dtml-page located also in the root folder. Deleting index_html doesn't help :-) (just preventing such Gotchas) Would anybody tell me what to do. I would also appreciate somebody explaining me what are all those SiteRoots & Virtual hosts monsters all about ??? How to apply them at all ? I'm facing great lack of documentation on the topic. help. Help ! HELP !!!!!!! Thanx in advance for my salvation. Anton.

2 Zopes, MS-SQL

Hi all- I need to get data from a MS SQL Server 7.0 database on NT 4 into web pages hosted on Redhat Linux 6.0/Apache/Zope. I understand that the way to do this is to put Zope on the NT box, and then use a Zope-to-Zope connection to get NT-based ZSQL Method data over to the Linux Zope's DTML Docs. I have working ZSQL methods in the Zope on the Windows box now. Everything works except that mystical Zope-to-Zope connection. Can anyone tell me how I can get the two zopes talking to each other? Which LDAP product?

I've been looking for a Zope product that makes Zope LDAP enabled. However I really dont know which one to choose? Or, should I have to write my own LDAP adaptor? If anyone has experience on using Zope with LDAP, please kindly give me some suggestions. Thanks :) BTW, has anyone ever tried running Zope on AIX? Any experience to share? Thanks :) -- Nick

Hi, I am a little new to Zope technology, and I looked for <searches> in it but all I found was serch in databases. I need to make a search in the site, looking for matches in it. I was wondering if there is no procedure or object that can do it. I need the same think as the Find of zope does. Can we have the code of it? Number of threads

Hi all, z2.py has an option, -t. According to its internal documentaion, this controls the number of threads used if ZODB3 is used. Please could somebody explain this to me in a little more depth? Are the threads only used for interaction with ZODB? What are the pros/cons of running multiple threads?
