RE: [Zope] parsing a textfile line by line

Try an external method using regsub (regular exp. subsitutions, split, etc); search for regsub.py in your Zope install to see a list of functions... You could pass the text of your object to a custom method to parse the text... Zope happily swallowed the code you suggested without complaining. We seem to get along a lot better now :) Originally I wanted to use the textfile as a zope Object because I can't access the filesystem on the server (yep, it's http://freezope.nipltd.net) Of course it was no problem to parse the data locally and import the results to the zope instance on the server. Just out of curiosity --> even though my problem was solved I wonder how this task would be accomplished when the textfile is a zope object. Check out apache bench (comes with apache AFAIK). It was used to do these tests a while back: http://www.zope.org/Members/BwanaZulia/benchmarks.html Troy -----Original Message----- From: Stephan Goeldi [mailto:stephan_goeldi@hotmail.com] Sent: Friday, February 16, 2001 6:50 AM To: zope(a)zope.org Subject: [Zope] Stresstest I would like to stress test Zope and Apache and to compare test results. The results should be as realistic as possible, e.g. combination of parallel accessing Zope/Perl/PHP/static Apache etc. What stress test software for Linux and WinNT can users of this list suggest? -goe- _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com. _______________________________________________ Zope maillist - Zope(a)zope.org http://lists.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope ** No cross posts or HTML encoding! ** (Related lists - http://lists.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope-announce http://lists.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope-dev )

Matching a date that's in a Zcatalog field index
by Chris Muldrow 19 Feb '01

19 Feb '01

I've set a CreateDate property on a bunch of files--basically, i grab the ZopeTime at the time of the DTML Document's creation and write it to a CreateDate property of type date. Now I'm trying to pull individual dates out of the Catalog--for instance, to show all of the stories written today. What's the proper syntax for matching this stuff? This doesn't work: <dtml-in "NewsCatalog(CreateDate.Date()=_.ZopeTime().Date())"> </dtml-in> Thanks! - Chris

Changing DBA, how to make SQL methods to auto-update
by Felipe E. Barousse Boue 19 Feb '01

19 Feb '01

HI all I just changed my DBA from PyGres to PoPy. It happens that I have to manually open each SQL Method (old Pygres SQL methods) and hit "save the changes" one by one in order for the new DBA to be recognized. Question is: Is there a way for SQL methods to auto-recognize that the DBA actually changed and automagically update themselves? This would save lots of time, otherwise we got to run through lots and lots of SQL methods across our sites. Any advice is appreciated. Felipe Barousse

Upgrading to 2.3.0 from 2.2.0
by Christian Adams 19 Feb '01

19 Feb '01

Anyone had any bad experiences with this? I want to upgrade to 2.3.0 on both a Linux (RedHat 6.2) platform and an NT4 platform from 2.2.0 but want things to go smoothly. I've read the upgrading info on zope.org but want to get the opinions of fellow Zopers so I know what to watch out for. Any advice much appreciated.
