Zope products install issue

Hello ! I've successfully installed Zope 2.3.0 on an Intel machine running RHL 7.0. But when I try to install additional modules for Python (mysqlmodule, for instance), they "discover" the RH Python and happily install themselves into /usr/lib/python/site-packages. So when I install the MySQL DA in the Zope Products directory, it reports that Python can't find the mysqlmodule, which is no surprise as Zope comes with and runs on its own Python. So I have to copy the site-packages directory from the RH 7 Python to the Zope Python, and then everything works out fine. But this isn't an elegant way at all. Could someone give me a hint to solve this some other way ? Or tell me what I am doing wrong ? Thank you. Andrei Cenja, Bucharest, Romania.

I would say go for it -- Zope 2.3.0 is real nice -- but first test it to make sure the new version is compatible with all of your Products. I posted a patch there, that allows to use ":method" suffixes even for image buttons. The patch was for Zope 2.1.6. Now (Zope 2.3), there is an alias ":action" for ":method". Starting a hosting business

Hi there, I've developed a few zope applications for various clients now, and I'm looking at offering them hosting facilities. I'm trying to get a handle on the best way to run multiple 'sites' from one computer. What I'd like to do is run x.com, y.com, and z.com from 3 different data.fs files. My research over the last couple of hours points me to running a master data.fs, and using the siteaccess/siteroot products to redirect incoming requests to folders which are actually external storages. Does anyone else use this approach? If so, and there any tricks or traps I should watch out for? If I wanted to replace the z.com data.fs with a new one, would I have to shut down the master.fs, or just copy the old one over the new one? Does anyone run more than one instance of zope at once to serve multiple data.fs's? What are the other approaches in use? Suggestions? Cheers! Tim.

Try an external method using regsub (regular exp. subsitutions, split, etc); search for regsub.py in your Zope install to see a list of functions... You could pass the text of your object to a custom method to parse the text...
