Problems running a Xron method
by Chris Muldrow 19 Feb '01

Anyone fooled around with Xron? I've got a DTMl method sitting in a folder that seems to work fine. When I copy the code into a Xron method and trigger it, though, it doesn't seem to work. i suspect some sort of Namespace trouble, but I'm not sure. -- thanks -- Chris

RE: [Zope] Webdav / ports
by Kit O'Connell 19 Feb '01

I just wanted to share how we're using Zope & WebDAV: We use it to share some .pdf, .html, and .doc files for procedures and documentation within my department. I have installed the FileFolder Product, which allows easy FTP & WebDAV sharing of file objects. It works great. It is especially easy in Windows 2000. There's also a product called MSWordDocument which is very good to use if you are planning on sharing a lot of .doc files (we don't use it because we have mostly .html & .pdf files). -- Kit O'Connell Zope Administrator kito(a)clearcommerce.com 'yes is a world & in this world of yes live (skilfully curled) all worlds' - e.e. cummings -----Original Message----- From: Philippe J [mailto:philippejadin2@swing.be] Sent: Sunday, February 18, 2001 2:17 PM To: zope(a)zope.org Subject: [Zope] Webdav / ports [sorry, newbie kind of questions;-)] Hello, It's my first post on this list, so please excuse me if this has been asked 100 times. Voilà, I discovered zope, and was wondering how this webdav stuff works. read that it was possible to use webdav with zope, and with ie 5+ and ms office 2000, and some others clients. I installed zope (which of course rocks!), and didn't know how to setup webdav with it. Do I have to change something in the start.bat file? Any arguments? It seems that the right one is -W. I'm using zope 2.3 on a win32. Do you have any pointers about this? Anyone doing this on the same kind of machine? What should I type in the open box of ie5? And in office2000? Another question : why does zope runs by default on the port 8080? I saw some sites on the net with the url like this : www.domain.com:8080 . "It's quite a mess they didn't change the port of the server" did I say in my little brain. And I tried to change this behavior on my local zope and didn't find a way. How can I change the port to the standard 80? Thanks for your time ! OT: Using images to post a form
by Paul Zwarts 19 Feb '01

19 Feb '01

Hi all, A slight off-topic request. I want to replace buttons with images to post a form (for more than just cosmetic reasons), does anyone know how it would be done? Can something like an onClick=document.Form.submit() work here and tell zope to read the request? Thanks in advance, Paul Zwarts

Re: [Zope] sql

Hello in a previous message I read .... and then you can call it e.g. from a DMTL method 'createManyTable': <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('list',('table1','table2'))"> <dtml-in list> <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('myName',_['sequence-item'])"> <dtml-call createTable> </dtml-in> ..... the idea is nice, pushing values on top of the REQUEST to resolve them by the ZSQL method. However, suppose I have a method like: id: add_dummy_table create table <dtml-var table_name> ( dummy INTEGER ) Now, if I call it in the form <dtml-var standard_html_header> <dtml-call expr="add_dummy_table(table_name='test')"> <dtml-var standard_html_footer> It works as well. Now my question is, is it just a question of personal style, or there is a more subtle advantage in pushing values in the REQUEST object? Thanks and regards Stefano

>Was spricht gegen www.zope.de?
