Patch for SQLSession / Zope 2.2a
by Jeff K. Hoffman 25 May '00

Hello, I am using SQLSession with Zope 2.2a, and ran into some bad juju with ZopeSecurityPolicy. Trying to access any of the methods on SESSION (has_key, clear, etc.) would fail with an Unauthorized exception. Following Brian Lloyd's lead, I've made the following patch to SQLSession.py. It seems to have fixed the problem, though I don't have the time to figure out if it's the "right" way to do it or not. Perhaps someone in the know can comment. *** SQLSession.py Sun Nov 21 20:38:18 1999 --- SQLSession.py.new Thu May 25 16:10:29 2000 *************** *** 75,80 **** --- 75,82 ---- REQUEST.SESSION (like REQUEST.RESPONSE) """ + __allow_access_to_unprotected_subobjects__ = 1 + caching = 0 def __init__(self, parentSession, sessionName, mode='base64'): --Jeff --- Jeff K. In 0.6 I tried to solve this once and for all with the wiki_base_url method.

Count specific objects
by peter 25 May '00

In subfolder "ref_links" I have a another folder called myLinksandURLs (which actually is a product called URL Directory). In that folder (myLinksandURLs) there are a couple of objects called Simple URL derived from the product called URL Directory. I now want to count the number of 'Simple URL' . I have tried this. <dtml-var "_.len('Simple URL')"> but that counts only the number of letters in Simple URL. How do I tell the _.len function to count how many objects exists in a specific folder?

>Is there any way to manipualte properties outside of the Zope >management area? Yes, you can do it using the manage_addProperty method from dtml (or from Python/External Methods). In the same vein you can change them programmatically. > >I have a lot of properties I need to add to a certain document >and it's really time consuming to enter then one by one. > >Also, Is there any way to arrange the order of properties? > >For instance, I've added a bunch called story 1a through >story1z, and story1r is misspelled as "stry1r". Currently, it >seems to keep them in order I have to delete all the properties >after the 1r property and enter them all again. > Keep them in order in what way? In the propertysheet? Then that's the only way. If you make your own form to edit the properties you might either call them directly, one by one, or gather them in a list, sort it, and then display them. Hope this makes sense Rik

No manage screen ?
by Paolo Bizzarri 25 May '00

25 May '00

Hi everybody, I have a really funny problem with Zope. I have a Zope application, for which I have no longer the management screens. If I try to see app/manage, I see the index_html method of app. Any idea ? If someone is interested I can send him the code. Hello, Is anybody bold enough to try Zope with ODBC to an ACCESS database? How about a Micosoft's SQL? Have you had any success with either? What would you recommend?? RE: [Zope] Netscape Image Problems (LoginManager?)

Seems that Netscape sends such a strange "If-Modified-Since" header. You can try to fix this problem, by removing the "int(...)" in "OFS.Image.py:186" mod_since=int(DateTime(header).timeTime()) ==== > mod_since=DateTime(header).timeTime()

Multiple Zopes syncronized?
by Paul Abrams 25 May '00

25 May '00

Hi all, Any ideas on how to keep multiple Zopes synchronized? Here is the scenario: 1) I've got two Zope machines with identical ZODB's. 2) I want a method call on one Zope that changes its ZODB to also make the same change to the other Zope. 3) The number of methods that need synchronization is very limited, so this doesn't need to be a very general solution. ZEO could solve this but I need a fix immediately and AFAIK its not out yet. Thanks in advance, -Paul __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Kick off your party with Yahoo!
