I am a beginner and I am developing a trial application with zope, but I have a problem. In a DTML Method (say "MyMethod") I have the following code: ...... <select name="SottoRubrica"> <dtml-in "SQLSottoRubriche('71')" > <option> <dtml-var descrizione> </dtml-in> ..... in the Z SQL Method "SQLSottoRubriche" (with Argument "Rubrica") I have the following code: select * from SottoRubriche where codrubrica= The test on the ZSQL Method run proprely. But as soon as I try to access to MyMethod via browser I have the following error: Zope Error Zope has encountered an error while publishing this resource. Error Type: Bad Request Error Value: ['Rubrica'] If I delete the part of code in the MyMethod, the page work fine even via browser. I know I miss something, but I don't understand what. Can you help me? TIA, Cesare Cesare Raoss Planning srl Via Bolzano 45 38014 Gardolo (TN) cesare(a)planningsrl.it http://www.planningsrl.it

It is mentioned at http://www.zope.org as under development. I've asked week ago about its state, but got no answer yet. If there'll be no news in few weeks, I'm going to develop it by myself (have some experience -- done the same in my 1.5-year-old bobo project). auth problems
by Milos Prudek 30 Dec '99

I can't go to management screen with superuser passwd. I'm using correct name and passwd (as specified in access file), but Zope says "Unauthorized. You are not authorized to access this resource." I'm using apache. No useful info in Apache's log's, pcgi.log and zope.log. Zope.cgi has been copied to apache cgi-bin dir. Apache has correct rewrite rule configuration as per WEBSERVER.txt. This is Zope 2.0.1 rpm. I also tried Zope 2.1.1 sources with same result. Please help me... -- Milos Prudek

>From: Jim Washington <jwashin(a)vt.edu> > >something like: <SELECT MULTIPLE ... name=myselect:list > Thanks. That worked. Is the colon in myselect:list part of Standard HTML, or is it part of Zope? That is, is it really part of the features of <SELECT MULTIPLE...>, or is the colon merely a device for Zope so it would always put the selected choices into a list? regards, Hung Jung ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com

catalog and key error
by - 30 Dec '99

hi all, i managed to get a ZCLass to automatically catalog its properties. and using source stolen from zope search page, tried to enable searching. it works to a point. the problem: when a term is entered i do get the results. but sometimes i got a key error. attached is the traceback. the problem is that i can't really point what caused the error. the error value is random. i used to see the problem ion the old zope site, but no more now. any hints, help, docs, appreciated. thanks Error Type: KeyError Error Value: 166 <!-- Traceback (innermost last): File /usr/local/Zope/lib/python/ZPublisher/Publish.py, line 214, in publish_module File /usr/local/Zope/lib/python/ZPublisher/Publish.py, line 179, in publish File /usr/local/Zope/lib/python/Zope/__init__.py, line 202, in zpublisher_exception_hook (Object: ElementWithAttributes) File /usr/local/Zope/lib/python/ZPublisher/Publish.py, line 165, in publish File /usr/local/Zope/lib/python/ZPublisher/mapply.py, line 160, in mapply (Object: r) File /usr/local/Zope/lib/python/ZPublisher/Publish.py, line 102, in call_object (Object: r) File /usr/local/Zope/lib/python/OFS/DTMLMethod.py, line 145, in __call__ (Object: r) File /usr/local/Zope/lib/python/DocumentTemplate/DT_String.py, line 502, in __call__ (Object: r) File /usr/local/Zope/lib/python/DocumentTemplate/DT_In.py, line 592, in renderwb (Object: Catalog) File /usr/local/Zope/lib/python/Products/ZCatalog/Lazy.py, line 190, in __getitem__ File /usr/local/Zope/lib/python/Products/ZCatalog/Catalog.py, line 181, in __getitem__ KeyError: (see above) > -- ------------------------------------------------------ http://www.kedai.com.my/kk Am I Evil?

streamed output and internet explorer
by Mailing List Recepient 30 Dec '99

30 Dec '99

I'm trying to do streamed output as opposed to returning a string for my published method, e.g.: def somemethod(self, RESPONSE=None): """blahblah""" RESPONSE.setHeader('content-type', 'text/html') RESPONSE.write('<HTML><BODY>hello</BODY></HTML>') return '' This works fine under netscape, however, under internet explorer v5 (and i think v4), it returns blank. I would love to say "internet explorer sucks...use netscape", but that's not a very constructive attitude. I assumed the problem was a missing content-length header, so i inserted a RESPONSE.setHeader with the length of the body. However, the HTTPResponse object seems to remove this header, so it never gets transmitted to the browser. So, my question is, "Is ZPublisher's streamed output supported with Internet Explorer browsers?" btw, i'm only using the bare bones zope modules, ie ZPublisher.

Database connections timing out?
by Graham Chiu 30 Dec '99

30 Dec '99

I am finding that after starting Zope, and making the ODBC connection to local Interbase, I can then access Zope and find that the ODBC connection has closed down. I am not yet certain how long this takes to happen. I then get an error complaining about the lack of a database connection. I never had this problem with versions prior to 2.0. I am using Win32, and the latest versions of Zope, and the DA for ODBC. I guess not many of you are using Interbase, but you might yet. Borland is reported to be considering open sourcing the product. ------- Regards, Graham Chiu gchiu<at>compkarori.co.nz http://www.compkarori.com/dynamo - The Homebuilt Dynamo http://www.compkarori.com/dbase - The dBase bulletin

How to test whether something is a string?
by Hung Jung Lu 30 Dec '99

30 Dec '99

Hi, In DTML, is there anyway of testing whether something is a string? (This is because I am using the <SELECT MULTIPLE...> form in submitting a HTML form. For single choice, the object submitted is a string, for mulitple choices, the object submitted is a list of strings. It would be helpful if I could test the type of the submitted object.) regards, Hung Jung ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com
