Hello! has anyone managed to install zope on NetBSD > 1.4, I can't get python to compile with thread support on netbsd.. so neither does zope run.. ?

auth problems

I can't go to management screen with superuser passwd. I'm using correct name and passwd (as specified in access file), but Zope says "Unauthorized. You are not authorized to access this resource." I'm using apache. No useful info in Apache's log's, pcgi.log and zope.log. Zope.cgi has been copied to apache cgi-bin dir. Apache has correct rewrite rule configuration as per WEBSERVER.txt. This is Zope 2.0.1 rpm. I also tried Zope 2.1.1 sources with same result. Please help me... -- Milos Prudek

catalog and key error

streamed output and internet explorer

I'm trying to do streamed output as opposed to returning a string for my published method, e.g.: def somemethod(self, RESPONSE=None): """blahblah""" RESPONSE.setHeader('content-type', 'text/html') RESPONSE.write('<HTML><BODY>hello</BODY></HTML>') return '' This works fine under netscape, however, under internet explorer v5 (and i think v4), it returns blank. I would love to say "internet explorer sucks...use netscape", but that's not a very constructive attitude. I assumed the problem was a missing content-length header, so i inserted a RESPONSE.setHeader with the length of the body. However, the HTTPResponse object seems to remove this header, so it never gets transmitted to the browser. So, my question is, "Is ZPublisher's streamed output supported with Internet Explorer browsers?" btw, i'm only using the bare bones zope modules, ie ZPublisher.

Database connections timing out?

I am finding that after starting Zope, and making the ODBC connection to local Interbase, I can then access Zope and find that the ODBC connection has closed down. I am not yet certain how long this takes to happen. I then get an error complaining about the lack of a database connection. I never had this problem with versions prior to 2.0. I am using Win32, and the latest versions of Zope, and the DA for ODBC. I guess not many of you are using Interbase, but you might yet. How to test whether something is a string?

Hi, In DTML, is there anyway of testing whether something is a string? (This is because I am using the <SELECT MULTIPLE...> form in submitting a HTML form. For single choice, the object submitted is a string, for mulitple choices, the object submitted is a list of strings.
