RE: [Zope] ZMySQLDA product problem?

I don't think solaris has such a file.... nor does it have ldconfig... I also think the environment variable may be LD_LIBRARY_PATH... I dunno, though, its fuzzy. > -----Original Message----- > From: Michel Pelletier [mailto:michel@digicool.com] > Sent: Thursday, December 02, 1999 1:58 PM > To: 'Art Hampton'; Michel Pelletier > Cc: zope(a)zope.org > Subject: RE: [Zope] ZMySQLDA product problem? > > > > -----Original Message----- > > From: Art Hampton [mailto:arth@pacsg.css.mot.com] > > Sent: Thursday, December 02, 1999 1:35 PM > > To: Michel Pelletier > > Cc: zope(a)zope.org > > Subject: Re: [Zope] ZMySQLDA product problem? > > > > > > Michel Pelletier wrote: > > > > > > > -----Original Message----- > > > > From: Art Hampton [mailto:arth@pacsg.css.mot.com] > > > > Sent: Thursday, December 02, 1999 12:02 PM > > > > To: zope(a)zope.org > > > > Subject: [Zope] ZMySQLDA product problem? > > > > > > > Uhm.. you do shut down the OS first before rebooting right? > > > > Of course, we're using shutdown -i 6 under Solaris. > > I had to ask. ;) Too many years of phone tech support in me... > > > ImportError: ld.so.1: /usr/local/bin/python: fatal: > > libmysqlclient.so.6: > > open failed: No such file or directory > > > > Looks like it doesn't know where it should be looking for > the library > > (/usr/local/lib/mysql in this case). Viewing versions and logging out?
by Art Hampton 03 Dec '99

03 Dec '99

I know the answers exist to both of these questions, but I can't remember where I saw them. Viewing Versions: There is a way to give someone a URL that lets them see into a version you have created. What is it? Once they've done that, is there another URL that will disable the version? Logging out: There is a snippet of code that logs someone out (posted to zope(a)zope.org just in the last few days perhaps? Searching my inbox came up empty). What was that again? Thanks, sorry to ask questions which I know I've already bumped into the answer already.... I would have thought searches for "logoff", "logout", or "go" (I seem to remember that the URL for the version had that in it....) on www.zope.org would have come up with something....

Adding PIL to Zope's Python?
by Darran Edmundson 03 Dec '99

03 Dec '99

When adding the PIL image library (or any other python module, for that matter) to Zope's Python, does one simply install in ZOPEROOT/Extensions? (I.e., the same directory as my external methods?) Cheers, Darran. -- Darran Edmundson [Darran.Edmundson(a)anu.edu.au]

sequence-item and ZSQL
by Anders Gaarsdal Holst 03 Dec '99

03 Dec '99

Hi! I have a <dtml-in> loop as follows: <dtml-in have> <dtml-call change_have_want_sql> </dtml-in> I now want to use the var sequence-item in the ZSQL method, that is called. This does not work however. Why is that? I have also tried using another var for transferring to the ZSQL method. <dtml-in have> <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('movieID', sequence-item)"> <dtml-call change_have_want_sql> </dtml-in> But Zope apperently cannot figure the " - " out in "sequence-item", and therefore cannot set this new var "movieID". What is the syntax for writing this var? Regards, A n d e r s G a a r s d a l H o l s t

Re: [Zope] Zope with Mozilla?

>>> Doug McNaught wrote > If any of you Zopistas are using Mozilla (I just snarfed M11 for Linux > a couple of days ago) have you been able to get the management > interface to work? Mozilla bug 6144 was the cause of this. It was fixed around a week or so ago - a daily snapshot from the last 7 days will work fine. There was also a bug in the text widgets that would eat the first character of entry in M11. Anthony

HR Department Org Chart
by rgines＠purina.com 03 Dec '99

03 Dec '99

I am getting ready to build an Organizational Chart 'product' within Zope. Since I still consider myself somewhat of a newbie I'm actually trying to plan this thing before I dive into building it (I know that is a scary thought ... trust me, I usually just dive right into things without thinking ... so I am in new territory here <g>) Since several of you have MUCH more experience with Zope I'd like to throw out some ideas with the hope that those of you who have mastered the Zen of Zope can share some of your wisdom. Of course if I do manage to make something of this it'll show up on the Zope site. THE STRUCTURE I am planning on a structure similar to the following /OrgChart - - - - /DeptHead1 - - - /Manager1 - - - /surf1 /peon2 /slave3 /Manager2 - - - /Moe /Curly /Larry etc, etc, etc I do not see any difficulty with being able to display the charts using the tree functionality. I'm pretty comfortable here. I would like to be able to have DeptHeads and managers be able to add/delete/edit any objects below them. I am assuming that this will be handled fine through local roles. Does anyone see a problem with this? This one has me stumped and am hoping that it is just brain fart. If I have user (employee) log on at the root, but would like for them to be able to edit/manage their own editable information... given the structure above, how do I find their resource. I'm looking for something similar to what the Zope site has for editing /Member/username, however that is a flat structure. I understand how to find things UP a tree structure, but how would I find something DOWN the structure. Do I have to make this thing ZCatalog aware, or can I just use the standard ZCatalog indexing? I think I am making this too difficult, but am stumped. If there is employee information which can be edited, would it make sense to have this information stored as properties to 'username' or should I create separate standard DTMLDocuments which can be edited by the user? I'm going to want to hide even the 'Zope' interface from these users as much as possible. If a user wants to build a 'homepage' off their directory using a 'web design tool'. Is there a way to create a 'virtual' or 'aliased' directory structure based on userid? Right now, the current FTP server that I am using lets me alias an n-deep directory structure and map to a single root level directory based on userid. It's pretty cool. I think I understand everything else that I need. Thanks in advance for your wisdom ....

I am trying to import (using the import/export) a number of products to try them out and am having some problems.
