Converting from ZServer to Roxen

I thought I would try out the Zope/Roxen combo mentioned elsewhere. Installed fine, foillowed Mangus' instructions, Zope works fine. Almost. I wanted to run one of my current sites with the combo for a straight accross comparison. Unfortunately, things don't want to cooperate. First, I tried to copy over my Zope directory, and run python w_pcgi.py. It fails. Next, I tried to make a fresh compile, and copy over the Data.fs and Products I had installed. No Dice. I reference a stylesheet with a Link tag: <link href="Styles/primary" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css"> But Roxen/Zope return a file not found error for "/Zope/Styles/primary" What am I missing/doing wrong here? -- "They laughed at Columbus, they laughed at Fulton, they laughed at the Wright brothers. UserDB Folder.

Hello all, I've dug up the UserDB folder in the old Zope.org site. However, before I try it, I'd like to find out if it's compatable with Zope 2. I can't find any information one way or the other, but I can only assume it's not, since it doesn't exist on the new Zope.org site, yet. Anyone know for sure? -Otto.

As for zope.org's sub-lightning speed, that's explained in a previous email I sent today. We've been too cheap to buy another machine, so one PII-350 is servicing zope.org (plus digicool.com and six other sites) PLUS the mailing lists PLUS mail delivery. We should have moved the mail stuff off to another machine a long time ago. For the first few months (during July and August) we ran the new Zope.org site straight to ZServer. However, our opinion is that most people will prefer the comfort of sitting behind their trusted webserver and letting it do logging, SSL, etc. Thus we'd like to try and run in the configuration most people use. Perhaps we'll change our mind and move back to "straight to ZServer", but it's proving to be a good test case for real world scenarios. --Paul

Out of curiousity how large can applications like the knowledge base, and squishdot get before moving away from Zope's default storage. How easy would it be to move to something like MySQL or PostgreSQL. thanks, Geoff Nordli

SiteAccess - Virtual Hosting

Evan is to be applauded for the wonderful docs he provided with SiteAccess; however, I still have a problem. The DTML Method he listed under Example 1: <dtml-call "REQUEST.path.append('mysite')"> which is to be placed in the root folder with the id set as AccessRule works great. : ) Although everything within the mysite folder is working correctly, I am immediately placed into the mysite folder when I access Zope. This means I cannot see my Zope root at all. Did I miss something somewhere? If my zope is sitting at www.mysite.com:8080 but I want to also have www.mysite.com:8080/my2ndsite and www.mysite.com:8080/my3rdsite - how do I do this? Root Folder Control Panel ZCatalog MySite Folder index_html neatstuff index_html My2ndsite Folder index_html neatstuff index_html My3rdsite Folder index_html neatstuff index_html How can I set it up so that if I just enter www.mysite.com:8080/manage I get into the Root Folder, but if I enter anything else, I'm directed to the correct folder?
