More examples would have helped a lot. Another point, however, is that the examples must be maintained and consistent. By which I mean that the default /QuickStart stuff has references to a lot of things which aren't named like that anymore (Aqueduct, f'rinstance). This is confusing to beginners. However, this is getting away from what is needed on the web site. For that, something like a "what can I do with Zope?" section would be good. Perhaps, showing something like the database examples from the quick start (database integration always impresses people :). New Version of Zope RPMS Available

I've upgraded my systems to Red Hat 6.1 and just this morning put up new RPMs for Zope that fix problems reported to me re RH 6.1. Correct and since I can't go changing your syslog settings from within an RPM, I removed the env var I had set in zserver.sh that caused it to log via syslog. The original Zope tarball didn't log via syslog either and I added it when I made the RPMs. Compatibility is more important and RPM users can always rework the logging to suit their admin and security policy. How can I create an list_object to use with manage_changeProperties

Hi folks, I've got a little problem because i want to change the properties of a folder object <dtml-with id> #id of the folder objekt <dtml-call "manage_changeProperties(list_object)"> </dtml-with> the list_object must contain the folder properties and the new values of the properties (comming via REQUEST (form-dtml)) {'id':'exampleid','title':'exampletitle'} The creation of this list_objet must be dynamic. So that there is no need to change the list_object if a property were added to the folder object. something like that: {id:REQUEST['id'],title:REQUEST['titel']} How can i create such an object? Can't get rid of ZGadfly in Add menu

I have a ObjectManager/ZCatalog ZClass Searcher which can contain folders. I create a folder Test in an instance. / -> Searcherinstance -> Test Both Test, Searcherinstance, and the root folder do not let Owners add ZGadfly objects, yet it shows up in the add menu of Test as an option for a Owner to add. Apparently the Searcher ZClass inherited the ZGadfly permission from either the FOlder or ZCatalog, I can't figure out why they're a default in either, but I still have set it to not allow it to Owners. This is bothersome because 6.1 (or maybe 6.0) is the only RedHat dist. that comes with a recent enough Python. I think that this is because the system logger isn't listening to a port by default. I changed /etc/rc.d/init.d/syslog.d to do this by default (with -r) & then restarted it.
