Big OOOOpps!!!! (*_sound of crashing dishes in the background_*) Yup. My CVS setup got screwed up and I missed one. I'll try to fix this ASAP. [Zope 1.10] grand child inclusion?

I can't seem to be able to include the result of a sub document folder in its grand parent folder. This is my current configuration: folderA/ DTMLMethod1 folderB/ DTMLMethod2 If I call  in DTMLMethod1, I get the HTML quoted contents of DTMLMethod2. I'd like to have the DTMLMethod2 called instead. What should I do? Note: I also tried  and variations thereof to no avail.

The best bet is for the web page, in the browser, to figure out what template and data it wants. You could use javascript for this. The page then asks the server for the template, and passes the specific data it wants like a form does. The Zope server loads a set of variables from the form data. The template is written to write those variables into the page where you want them (as in  would insert var1, and so on). Of course, a variable could actually be a fairly lengthy string (best to use POST instead of GET for these) Also, the "some_text" things could be stored as DTML documents. The standard headers and footers work this way, for example. The template would contain  where you want to write it. I notice that several people have asked similar questions recently. You can do a lot on in the browser using javascript, and the javascript could even be written dynamically by Zope. If you can do it in the browser, it is usually better, since it reduces the burden on the server. Let the server do good server-like things, like retrieving query results from a database or formatting pages or calling custom code. And let the web page handle user interactions and the related logic without bothering the server. I'd like to make a list of items returned by Zcatalog sortable by different criteria, like the how-tos on zope.org.. The user should be able to click on a headline, and the returns will be sorted by that variable. as "sort=" doesn't take expressions, i am puzzled on what to do.. Way back in the list-archives, there is mention of a product called Zieve, but i find no reference to it on the zope site. There is also the magic "sort_link" -variable used to do this on Zope.org.. What is it ? Timing SQL queries

Is there any support for timing SQL queries made by SQLMethods? For optimizing a site, it's nice to turn on a logging mode, exercise the site a bit, and then look at a log of every query and the time it took; this lets you notice redundant queries (means you need some caching) or unusually slow queries (means you need an index or a table rethink). Any suggestions on how I should implement this, if it's not already supported? -- A.M. [announce] Local File System product

I've created a product called Local File System which allows you to mount directories from the local file system in your Zope server and serve the files as regular Zope objects. It also allows browsing directory contents. This is currently a development release so I wouldn't recommend installing it on a production server. Generating non-existent documents on the fly?

Is there a way to generate non-existent documents on the fly - some kind of "rewriting" the target URL? Example site structure /root (http://localhost/) /content layout_template some_txt A user queries http://localhost/content/some.html Obviously, "some.html" does not exist. This is where some mechanism (the one I am trying to find <g>) kicks in. It will analyze the query string, detect that there is "some_txt" and "layout_template". Based on that it will generate "some.html" on the fly. Any ideas? I'd rather not want to have question marks in the query; my attempts to play with standard_error_handler unfortunately did not yield anything. Thanks!

DCOracle - Oracle8i - Again [Q]

Hi! I managed to compile DCOracle with Oracle 8i on my Sparc. I took some comments made to the list to month ago regarding the Setup file. But now I am having a diferent trouble. After compiling I want to test the DCOracle and I am getting the following error with the 'python DCOracle_test.py user/pass@sid' command: Traceback (innermost last): File "DCOracle_test.py", line 1, in ? import Buffer, oci_, sys ImportError: ld.so.1: python: fatal: relocation error: file ./oci_.so: symbol nnfyboot: referenced symbol not found Any help will be appreciated. RH 6.1 Startup error

I've been fooling with Zope under Win98. Permissions look ok and I get the same errors from startup as I do when I try and run /var/zope/zserver.sh as root. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. P.
