So...we are on 2.8.10 and our biggest app on our site is a ZClass based news object. How close will this provide functionality to just drop our data.fs into 2.12 and have those zclasses work? This is huge news! Zope 2.12.0 released

On behalf of the Zope 2 developers community I am pleased to announce the official release of Zope 2.12.0. Major changes: - Ships with ZODB 3.9 - Runs on top of Python 2.5 and 2.6 (no official support for Python 2.4, your mileage may vary) - Fully eggified - you install Zope 2.12 directly from PyPI using *easy_install* or *zc.buildout* - Lots of cleanup on the module level (e.g. ZClasses have gone forever - like it or not) - Ships with the Zope component library (aka Zope 3.4) - RESTified documentation in order to generate nice looking HTML/PDF documents using Sphinx - lots of other small details For more details, check: http://docs.zope.org/zope2/releases/2.12/WHATSNEW.html Release notes: http://docs.zope.org/zope2/releases/2.12/CHANGES.html Especially read the installation instructions since the installation process is different from all other Zope versions (because of the eggification process). I am pleased to announce the launch of a new website dedicated to the Zope 2 application server: zope2.zope.org This site gives the Zope 2 application a much better representation on the web (which was more than necessary after having lived for years with the current old www.zope.org site). zope2.zope.org is not a community site. You will not be able to register or upload personal content (use www.zope.org for the time being). We will publish content on request (events, news etc.) - please contact the webmaster in such a case. lost zope password - resolved

Hi all Just an update. Zope wasn't getting restarted by "../bin/instance restart" .....but about an hour ago I tried manually killing all the zope processes and then starting zope......and all is good now :) Thanks to those who emailed. -- Jel

Hi I am new around here. If I am not in the right place then please feel free to point me elsewhere. I have a site running Plone. The admin/manager password for zope is lost. I followed the instructions here after googling a bit: http://quintagroup.com/services/support/tutorials/zope-access/ to create an emergency user (following the 2. How to create emergency Zope access user in your Zope instance, created with buildout, instructions) But I can't login with the login created for the emergency user I can see the 'access' file that is created, and I put it where the instructions indicate. * Plone 3.1.6 * CMF 2.1.1 * Zope (Zope 2.10.6-final, python 2.4.5, linux2) * Python 2.4.5 (#2, Jul 31 2008, 18:51:48) [GCC 4.2.3 (Ubuntu 4.2.3-2ubuntu7)] * PIL 1.1.6 Running on ubuntu server. Error when trying pack database

Hi all, I'm trying to pack the main database ( MySQL with Relstorage ) when I hit "Pack" button is showed the error 500 below ------------- Site Error An error was encountered while publishing this resource. Error Type: IntegrityError Error Value: (1062, "Duplicate entry '251983055306698820-6697-172041' for key 1") ------------- Is there some way to fix it? do anyone know that? Thanks in advance. maintaining session variables using zeocluster

Hellol, We are using a zeocluster with six clients and use pound for load balancing betwwen them. However I am having problems using session variables. I think that session variables are maintained separately for each client i.e a value set to sesssion variable when pound sends a request to one client cannot be retreived when a request is sent to some other client. What can be done in such a situation ? Thanks in advance Rajiv Nair

Either configure pound so that sessions from one browser always goes to the same client, or mount your temporary storage in the ZEO master. I made a patch for the filestorage recipe to do this.
