Hide zope http signature

How to hide/custom the zope server signature from http header? There is some way to do it? Adding it to apache configuration only works for html, php or any other page but doesn't work for zope pages, remembering that I'm using zope behind apache. Thanks for any suggestion. I don't know what HighSpeedRails is or how they compare in price, but Webfaction isn't expensive and I have a mid-to-high traffic Zope site on one of their servers. Aaron

Simple Z3C.Forms question

This is a simple question, I'm using z3c.form, I have an AddForm and I created the view with the wrap_form method. I'm using invariants, the problem is whenever something's wrong I get a message saying "There were some errors". I'd like to get the explicit message that the invariant raises... Thank you for your help!

moving a zope install

Before I investigate any further perhaps someone here may be able to save me a little time. Is it possible to move a zope installation from one directory to another and have zope.conf pick up the correct paths dynamically? I've looked at the zope on a cd but I want the db to be writeable. Disable local loopback connections

Greetings. I hate computers and especially networks but I love software languages and programming. Zope is tolerable as a medium to allow me to express creative language use. Thanks for listening. :-) BTW, I would like to be able to test my server's connectivity from the Internet. Something goofy occasionally happens with the damned computer/firewall/network interface/network card, etc. etc. etc... A reboot puts things back in order. (SUSE 10.3 on Intel dtgblah? board) My server stays up and running but no one can get to it. And I have no way of finding out unless I happen to check it myself outside the firewall. Scriptable proxy services are few and far between and unreliable. A couple I have found are .6a.nl and freeproxyserver.net which, until yesterday, allowed me to send an HTTP request using Python but now requires Javascript enabled and I'm certainly not going to mess with the Mechanizer Python module or whatever just for this little problem, though it may be an interesting module. .6a.nl has reported a "bandwidth exceeded" message for a week or so. Or else they're just picking on me for sumitting a proxy request every hour on the hour (crontab). BTW, you can probably thank me for FreeProxyServer.net shutting down their URL request capability :-) So, I would like to be able to submit a request via the httplib Python module and have it _not_ use the local loopback. There must be a way to preface a request URL with the gateway or something but I'd have to go back to school to figure it out. And I'm tired of school. It's expensive and not all instructors are worth their class time. Anyway, greetings and happy Zoping to you. -Tom

HTTP Request Denial of Service Vulnerability

I manage product security at McAfee, of which Foundstone is a part. I am not aware of releasing such an advisory, and am looking into this. Could we get details regarding where this was found? Was this posted to a web site? A security mailing list? And when was it posted? This may have a very different meaning if it was published in 2001 or something like that. Alternately, Foundstone produces a vulnerability management software, was this in a report generated by that product? As far as I know, we try to never make general sweeping statements about products such as those quoted by the poster. Our statements are typically regarding a single vulnerability, and extrapolating to the entire product is not in our nature or in our customer's best interests. We want issues fixed, not to argue about which specific platforms are better than other. Additionally, we try to never release any vague reports such as the one I'd seen. They are typically combined with additional details that would allow one to determine their own risk, and we usually include a CVE number or another common vulnerability identifier. Finally, we follow responsible disclosure, and wouldn't issue an advisory without notifying the vendor prior. I have the appropriate teams trying to track down from an internal standpoint, but any help from the community, especially the original poster, would be appreciated. What is a Zotero Group? =================== If you join a Zotero Group you can collectively create and use a bibliography. Why you should join and help ======================= When you write an article or a paper about Zope or if you create a presentation about it, you often want to insert citations to prove your arguments or to give your reader further information. Creating a bibliography all by yourself sucks. So let us crowdsource it! If you want to try out Zotero, download it here: http://www.zotero.org I am using 2.0beta. Storage names being lowercased by collective.recipe.filestorage ?

Hi there It looks like the filestorage recipe lowercases storage names somewhere, making storage names containing uppercase characters fail. In a buildout, I have a [filestorages] section with parts like this: """ parts = ClmE GclMe TwaP """ It generates zeo.conf and zope.conf containing the expected derived names, and filestorages are created: $ ls var/filestorage/ClmE var/filestorage/ClmE: ClmE_Data.fs ClmE_Data.fs.index ClmE_Data.fs.lock ClmE_Data.fs.tmp However when I try to add ZODB mount points from the ZMI, it deadlocks with this traceback recurring: """ 2009-07-21T09:51:49 (127.0.0.1:48909) register() raised exception: unknown storage: ClmE Traceback (most recent call last): File "/home/zope/instances/.../parts/zope2/lib/python/ZEO/zrpc/connection.py", line 421, in handle_request ret = meth(*args) File "/home/zope/instances/.../parts/zope2/lib/python/ZEO/StorageServer.py", line 217, in register raise ValueError("unknown storage: %s" % storage_id) ValueError: unknown storage: ClmE """ In the ZMI (/Control_Panel/Database) I see that it shows the database name as 'clme'.
