Zap -- incorrect docs

Since I want to use apache so I can introduce a rewrite, I tried downloading Zap. I was first unimpressed by the fact that the distribution tarball contains several temporary editor files (#*# and *~)... The instructions in README.txt state: > Be sure to run the './install' script that comes with Zope so that it > creates a 'Zope.cgi' file in the top level directory. moving from 1.10.2 to 2.0.0a1

Another newbie question -- how can one upgrade from 1.10.2 to 2.0.0a1 while retaining my data? Hopefully, the documentation will be getting better soon... (Is there a need for documentation editors? I certainly can't *write* docs, as I'm Zope-clueless, but I'm a professional editor and am good at rewriting other people's language to be more understandable.)

This can happen for a few reasons (Jeff do you know what this error means exactly?) I've had similar errors happen when there are syntax errors in ZPublisher, Python core dumps, and other strange happening. Any way of entering data into TinyTable via DTML?

Hi, I've looked through the source for TinyTable B2 and can't see anything obvious. My requirement is to do a one-time SQL query to a MySQL database (the database content is not very dynamic) and then populate a TinyTree table with the results and use that for lookups later. possible? sensible? TIA Tone

This is basically the best answer... we're not planning to make any further changes/additions/fixes to ZopeHTTPServer (which was used instead of Apache in early releases), and it will most likely "go away" within a few releases. It's just a hacked up version of the BaseHTTPServer that comes with Python. It's very slow, though functional. ZServer is probably your best bet, unless you need something that Apache can provide---i.e. SSL, etc. Chris

Hi All, I am using web applications in production with 1.10.2+ZHTTPserver under RH Linux 5.2 What can I do to have Zope s own server work continuously, without manual re-starts every day? At the begining I did not broke this server but now the delais before crash is growing :( Is the zope db corrupt? Hope your help, FR. PS : I am testing 2.0a but not in production ....
