It looks to me like Zope is not crashing at all, but the actually ZopeHTTPServer is. Since we no longer develop ZopeHTTPServer, I suspect your problem will go away if you switch to either ZServer or Apache. Unfourtunatly, it wouldn't be worth our time researching this problem as we don't plan on continuing development on ZHTTPServer anyway. -Michel

Are you doing  _before_ the ? Sorry, that's probably a silly question for me to ask, but I want to be sure I have my bases covered. I have had a similar sounding problem working with an Access database connected to Zope using the ZODBC connector. The problem seems to have gone away after I started using the following test:  [Do something here]  This is likely more than verbose than it needs to be, but it does the trick. It looks like you are doing almost the exact same thing, except you aren't as explicit as I am being in my #if statement. My hunch is that difference is important.  just checks to see if sql-var-name exists, which it does since your ZSQL method defined it in accessing your DB. Doing  checks the _value_ of sql-var-name, which is probably what you really what. Oh great Zope masters, did I get that right? I will so happy if that is so... I'm new to the game so you should to take anything I say with a bit more than a grain of salt. That said I hope this is of some use to you, Zope on brave comrade! The nature of the bug is such that user folders created while the bug was present will not be automatically fixed by the code update. If this is an extreme problem for you, you can shutdown your Zope process, cd to your installation's lib/python directory, start Python and do something like the following for each of your extra user folders: # for each of your broken user folders, you need to # assign it to the __allow_groups__ variable of its # container object import Main myuserfolder=Main.app.foobar.acl_users Main.app.foobar.__allow_groups__=myuserfolder get_transaction().commit() Hope this helps! Testing for NULL values in TinyTable

Hi, I have a problem accessing TinyTable cells having NULL values. In the following table: Columns: name r1 r2 r3 Data: aaa, 1, 2, 3 bbb, 1, 2, NULL (the NULL is added by TinyTable when no value is specified for a cell) When iterating over the table rows:  Each cell is added to the namespace, so I can access it with , or  The problem is that I can't deal with r3 in the 2nd row. Everything I try to do with it (like , ) ends in a "You are not authorized to access r3" error! Any ideas? Hello I have a new problem using Zope-1_11_0pr1: - The added user-folder seams to have no effect. Inside the CVS I found that this is a know bug: User.py V1.79:'Changed to use this to fix a problem that caused all added user folders to be ineffective.' So I got the lastest Role.py(1.79) -> same result. I got all the new AccessControl python files-> same My extra user-folders are still ineffective. After putting some debuging print arround User.py, it look to me that the validate method look inside a user folder which contain a list of user = []. Except if I put my user in the top acl-folder. Fully render dtml object from external method - solved !

At last. With some help from Kent Polk, I stumbled across a way to do what I needed. This little external method will spit back a fully rendered html version of every dtml document (methods work too) in the folder you call it from. Looks like the calling of the dtml object with self, request and globals as parameters is the way forward....I'm sure there's a more elegant way to do this but at least it works. You will need to discover the text label for the timezone that python is reporting to DateTime and put something like this in the DateTime class. _zmap={'aest':'GMT+1000', 'aedt':'GMT+1100', 'aus eastern standard time':'GMT+1000', The datetime code should be changed to find the current timezone as its offset rather than its text label. This way this problem would never happen!!!
