The generated source when formatting "data:text" is ---------------------8<------------------------ There are my <strong>items</strong>: <ul> <li>first <li>second </ul> ---------------------8<------------------------ However, the generated source for "data" is: ---------------------8<------------------------ There are my <strong>items</strong>: - first - second ---------------------8<------------------------ which is viewed as: ---------------------8<------------------------ There are my items: - first - second ---------------------8<------------------------ Of course, "items" is strong, but i cannot render this in my mail client :-) This is especially annoying because i get "data" from a database (not from InputTestForm), and SELECT data as data:text from MyTable doesn't work. I have to miss something, or perhaps this is a bug??? The funniest part is: if formatting "data:text" works as expected from InputTextForm, then "data" must be of type "non text". Date comparison problem

I'm trying to build an if statement by comparing two date values (BeginDate, EndDate)retrieved from a SQL query. If the two dates are equal, I just want to output the date once otherwise, I want to output both dates. I can't figure out how to do this. I have the following chunk of code, but it always evaluates false, even if the two dates are the same.   .... [deleted]   .... [deleted]  Any help is appreciated. Jeff jeffniel(a)ix.netcom.com

Error Message: Sorry Error Occurred - ??

Upon connection to ZopeHTTPServer I am getting the subjet error message. From the docs I have read I am guessing it is related to the var permissions...but I have not got them right yet I guess. There is also a HTML message in the page that a frame capable browser was required, but it is (Netscape 4.5) Zope was bulilt from the 1.9 source tarball. No error messages. I have tried running ZopeHTTPServer at root with no avail as well. This was built on a FreeBSD v2.2.8 OS, and using the same browser I have successfullly stated Zope on Linux RedHat with the same browser. I have also made permissions the same on both systems, but no joy. This is proberly a very simple error I am overlooking, but it is eluding me. Any suggestions would be appreciated. TIA, Dick

Specifically that 'View' 'Access contents information' and 'Use Database Methods' are required to be available to Anonymous at the root folder in order for UserDb authentication to work. problems building on AIX

I tried to build Zope on AIX and gave up pretty quickly. All of the dynamic extensions fail - it looks like for the following reasons. It tries to use './ld_so_aix' as the linker - this is a script that comes with the python source kit but doesn't get installed and obviously doesn't exist in dot. I changed the makefile so it could find ld_so_aix but now it fails because in each dir with a dynamic extension it is looking for a file called ./python.exp - which is a some file needed to build dynamic libs on aix that is generated by running makexp_aix (another script shipped with the python source kit) on each .o file (which seems to pretty much just run 'nm' on the object files.) Is there a way I can have the build process make static extension and just create a new python - like Zpython or something? Anyway, I copied most of the extensions into the python source tree and rebuilt it - but the zope build process fails because it tries to build the extensions anyway. So, I just tried to run it - and I get Sorry, an error occurred.<p>  with the zope http zerver and: Sorry, the requested document does not exist. Little problem with DTML

Hi All, I spend a long day trying to play with DTML and SQL method. Thus, I decided to ask to experts :) My problem is to print the result of a an SQL method "call" only if a condition is realized. I readed many thing on documentation but even sqltest, sqlgroup, insert DTML in sql method, gave me not a solution. I admit also that these new notions are a bit new for me but more exemple should also help me. I have a properties(monthvalue : January, February, ....) that I want to test against a value of a column of the resulting sql method (view_star_mois). If the record contents a column with the sequence-item then I print the record. This is the only solution I found to order by month my records in a gadfly database :) ========================== Document template ==========================           =========================== SQL method : view_star_month =========================== select * from star Question 1 ========== This algorithm is not very efficient cause I have to call an sql method for each sequence-item. Is there an other solution? Question 2 ========== The previous DTML sequence creates an empty html file. Why, cause my records database contents these months? Question 3 ========== Internationalization is not yet there for the date in Zope. Do you think with Python 1.2 this should come? Help please, FR. hard-coded pcgi

Hi, Does anyone out there already have a pcgi-wrapper that is hardcoded to run directly instead of through a script like Zope.cgi? I want to do this so that I can safely run it setuid. If no one has such a beast, I'll muck about in the C code and see if I can patch it.
