ZSyncer fails to do authenticate under Zope 2.11

I am getting 401 errors with ZSyncer-0.7.1 using a configuration which worked with Zope 2.9 and an earler version of the ZSyncer product. Both use Python 2.4. Has anyone seen this problem? Can you recommend a fix? Is the CVS version of ZSyncer on Sourceforge a better choice? --

Trying to install Zope2-2.12.0b2 on Windows

Dear all I'm trying to install Zope2-2.12.0b2-py2.6-win32.egg on Windows. It's the first time I try to install an egg, so I may have made a trivial mistake. The installation installs some packages, then tries to install zope.security, and fails with a missing vcvarsall.bat. I haven't got a C compiler installed - I assumed the purpose of the Zope Windows egg was that I wouldn't need to compile? Possible effects of a custom event logger on a running Zope instance

Hi all. I'm planning to create a custom event handler for Zope; the handler, on an Exception, will automatically open a ticket inside a trac system. It could happen of course that the site where the ticket are sent is down. What could be the possible effect of this? Would the raising/handling of the exception be compromised? I could think to have the exception logged on a local file, and then sent to the ticket system via a process external to Zope, but I wonder if this is necessary. Problem with POST and text/xml

I need to support a third party web service (which is not within my control) that wants to send xml data to my zope server (Zope 2.9.2 running on Redhat linux). When Zope receives a POST request with a Content-Type of text/xml it assumes that it is an xmlrpc call (which it is not - it is just passing xml data within the POST request). Is there a way to get Zope to turn off this "xmlrpc assumption" so that my zope external method can process the xml data that is being passed? Summary ------- The first major release of the BFG web framework (aka "repoze.bfg"), version 1.0, is available. See http://bfg.repoze.org/ for general information about repoze.bfg. Details ------- BFG is a Python web framework based on WSGI. It is inspired by Zope, Pylons, and Django. It makes use of a number of Zope technologies under the hood. BFG is developed as part of the more general Repoze project (http://repoze.org) It is released under the BSD-like license available from http://repoze.org/license.html . BFG version 1.0 represents one year of development effort. The first release of BFG, version 0.1, was made in July of 2008. Since then, roughly 80 pre-1.0 releases have been made. None of these pre-1.0 releases explicitly promised any backwards compatibility with any earlier release. Version 1.0, however, marks the first point at which the repoze.bfg API has been "frozen". Future releases in the 1.X line guarantee API-level backward compatibility with 1.0. A backwards incompatibility with 1.0 at the API level in any future 1.X version will be considered a bug. More Details ------------ BFG contains moderate, incremental improvements to patterns found in earlier-generation web frameworks. It tries to make real-world web application development and deployment more fun, more predictable, and more productive. Re: [Zope] psycopg import error

Hi, I also experienced the problem this morning when trying to use the product ZPsycopgDA version 2.0.11 on Zope. The error reported by Plone/Zope is: Error Value: psycopg version mismatch (imported 2.0.11 (dt dec ext pq3)) Due to the fact it is extracting the first 5 characters (2.0.1) and comparing it to the full version (2.0.11), thus failing. Instead of changing the index to 6 (which would then break 2.0.8 versions, etc.), you can explode the string by spaces, then extract the first part: so the only change would be to line 119 of DA.py, from: if psycopg2.__version__[:5] not in ALLOWED_PSYCOPG_VERSIONS: to: if psycopg2.__version__.split(' ')[0] not in ALLOWED_PSYCOPG_VERSIONS: No other changes to the versions definition would be required. This will be both backwards and forwards compatible with all versions from 0.0.0 to 999.999.999 (well, infinity really)! Keep up the good work.
