The only products I have made only inherit from Folder, but I never defined any __init__. [ANN] Epoz 0.8.2 released

Hi, I've just released Epoz 0.8.2. An upate is recommended for all people who use the Default-EpozPostTidy-Hook for generating relative links. For all who don't know what Epoz is: Epoz is a cross-browser (for IE & all current Gecko-based-browsers like Mozilla / Netscape / Firebird) wysiwyg-editor for Zope / Plone / CPS / etc.pp. Changes - Updated license to Zope Public License 2.1. - Danny Bloemendaal provided a cleaned up toolbox for use in Plone 2. Thank you, Danny! - Added "Photo" (CMFPhoto) as selectable image-type to the toolbox. Thanks to Shane Graber for patch! - set wordwrap for mxTidy/uTidy to 79 character to avoid some problems with splitted a-href-tags. - fixed bug: making relative urls for images was broken in EpozPostTidy for people who have no mxTidy / uTidylib installed. - fixed bug: removed .strip() from data-handler in Extensions/EpozPostTidy.py, so required whitespace isn't killed; added a "useless-whitespace"-cleanup to EpozPostTidy. zope +debian

Bonjour à tous. Je viens de réussir à installer Debian woody sur mon mac. J'aimerais à présent installer Zope, puis Plone et CPS. J'aimerais simplement m'assurer que je ne fais pas d'erreur dans mes choix. Je pensais installer Zope 2.7.0 et python 2.3.3. Faire ensuite deux instances de Zope, une pour Plone 2.0.3 et l'autre pour CPS 3.1.1 (ou 3.0.3). Est-ce un choix suffisemment judicieux à votre avis ? Ou bien devrais-je utiliser le package de Plone pour Debian, et installer une deuxième fois zope pour CPS. Je pensais faire les installations avec stow afin de ne pas toucher à la version de python déjà présente sur Debian. Bref, j'aimerais pouvoir tout désinstaller facilement au cas où. Auriez vous d'autrs solutions à me proposer ? Merci, Sophie

Zope/Python Users Group in Washington, DC Re-Formed

After a hiatus, a new group for Python, Zope, and Plone programmers in DC is forming. Our goal is to network and further educate ourselves on programming in Python. While not exclusively for Zope or Plone developers, we expect there to be a focus for these technologies. We have a formation meeting scheduled: Thursday, July 8th 7:00pm-9:00pm Porter Novelli Board Room, 1909 K Street NW. This is very close to both the red line and orange lines of the DC Metro, and close to many restaurants and bars. For information on the meeting, please see http://zpugdc.org/meetings/mtg1. Apache 1.3.26 cache problem with ImageFile (misc_ and p_ images) ZOPE 2.7

I think I'm seeing a bug in the 304 handling of Apache or ImageFile (as used by misc_ and p_ images such as /p_/pl the plus in a box). I have Apache working as a proxy/cache in front on ZOPE. Everything is fine until I perform a forced refresh on one of these images. ZOPE replies to Apache with a 304 status but with a Content-length header of 0. From then on, Apache serves a zero length image. The code for FSImage and Image sets the Content-length header to the length of the data that would have been sent. Image has the comment: # Set header values since apache caching will return Content-Length # of 0 in response if size is not set here Does the code for ImageFile need to do similarly, or do I just need a later version of Apache? HTML parsers and Wget like function

I am considering Zope/python for a project and would like to get some pointers to see if this is a reasonable fit. I need to get a URL from the web, parse the HTML ,extract some data from the page, rewrite the <a href> tags and display it on the website. I found the HTML parser in library http://www.python.org/doc/current/lib/markup.html and http://www.crummy.com/software/BeautifulSoup/ (which is down now but was up a couple of days ago) does anyone have any other suggestions for manipulating HTML in Zope/python. For getting the the page from a URL is there something like Wget (unix program) in Zope for this - I searched around the manual but did not see anything. Thanks, Grant

ExternalEditor with apache rewrite

I'm running ExternalEditor-0.7.2, and have one problem I haven't been able to figure out. It works fine if I connect directly to the zope server, but if I connect via the Apache interface it doesn't get locks. I'm basically clueless about webdav beyond knowing how to spell it. Recently I was reading installation instructions for a iCal product for Zope that talked about changing a URL so that is points to a different host allowing the apache rewrite rules to redirect the call to the webdav port of the Zope server. It appears that one could hack the zopeedit.py script a bit in the zopeRequest routine (about line 481) to massage the host name which would allow this. Am I trying to reinvent the wheel here? Would someone kindly refer me to where the Zope errors are documented? I need to parse the message into terms I understand and figure out why errors of the following style are being reported frequently on the server and how to trace & debug them.
