CMF+Plone and Zwiki (making a TOC)
by G. Clifford Williams 23 May '04

23 May '04

I'm trying to construct a FAQ for my site. I'd like to do it with Zwiki but don't know how I can get a nice table of contents to appear automaticly when I add a new topic. I know that there was a way to do this with DTLM but that feature has been removed from the Plone skins for Zwiki. Does anyone have any ideas? I'm open to using other products if they will work, or doing it in ZPT if it's possible. TIA

ClientDisconnected - how to prevent this from showing up?
by george donnelly 22 May '04

22 May '04

hi I've got a 7-client ZEO cluster. The client machines are Celeron's and the ZEO server is on a dual XEON. All communication is over a private network with a switch in the middle. Lately I have been getting ClientDisconnected errors more often than I would like. restarting the offending client or the zeo server is a temp solution. I'm not sure why the disconnects are happening but I would prefer for zope to simply not respond than to send that error messages. That way the loadbalancer could mark that client as down and send requests to working clients. Visitors would never or very infrequently see the Clientdisconnected error in this case. Has anyone else implemented this? Any suggestions as to how to go about this would be much appreciated. :) <--> george donnelly ~ http://www.zettai.net/ ~ "Quality Zope Hosting" Shared and Dedicated Zope Hosting ~ Zope Servers ~ Zope Websites Yahoo, AIM: zettainet ~ ICQ: 51907738 ~ Sales (USA): 1-866-967-3669

[Ann] AdvancedQuery 0.2
by Dieter Maurer 22 May '04

22 May '04

AdvancedQuery is a Zope product for flexible queries against "ZCatalog" or "CatalogTool". Queries can be arbitrarily combined with "and", "or" and "not". All index types are almost fully supported (exception: relevance sorting of TextIndexes). AdvancedQuery supports efficient incremental (lazy) multi-level sorting via FieldIndexes. This means, you can sort via e.g. "sort_on=(('Date','desc'), 'portal_type', 'id')". For large result sets, sorting is performed incrementally, only as far as you access the result. This can drastically speed up sorting time. AdvancedQuery is especially efficient for "ManagableIndex"es (see: <http://www.dieter.handshake.de/pyprojects/zope#ManagableIndex>). New in version 0.2: * optimization of descending sorting using new "ManagableIndex" features. More information and download: <http://www.dieter.handshake.de/pyprojects/zope#AdvancedQuery> Note: This may be the last version with its current open source unrestricted use license. I consider whether I will expressly forbid the use of my software by institutions of the European Union (Councel of Ministers, Commission, Parliament, ...). This is in protest against a recent decision of the Councel to make software patentable. This decision ignores a Parliament vote that pleaded to keep logic (algorithms, business rules) un-patentable. -- Dieter

If not, are there any other Zope products that would allowme to create a PDF document and use tables inside of it? Any help would begreatly appreciated. Thanks. - Asad

Problems building RPMs
by Des Dougan 21 May '04

21 May '04

I'm trying to create Zope 2.7 RPMs for my SME Server distro (a Red Hat 7.3 variant designed for small businesses). I've installed from the source tarball, and chosen /opt/Zope-2.7 for the location, including the instance home. All runs cleanly when built from source. I therefore attempted to create an RPM, as my production server does not have compilers installed. I used Chris McDonough's 2.7.0-b1 spec file, amended for the directory structure noted above. However, I'm getting a failure after the build: changing mode of /var/tmp/Zope-2.7-root/opt/Zope-2.7/bin/decompilezpy.py to 755 running install_data [ -f /var/tmp/Zope-2.7-root/opt/Zope-2.7/bin/python ] || ln -sfn "/usr/local/bin/python2.3" /var/tmp/Zope-2.7-root/opt/Zope-2.7/bin/python Zope binaries installed successfully. Now run '/var/tmp/Zope-2.7-root/opt/Zope-2.7/bin/mkzopeinstance.py' + popd ~/rpms/BUILD + /usr/lib/rpm/brp-compress + /usr/lib/rpm/brp-strip + /usr/lib/rpm/brp-strip-comment-note Processing files: zope-2.7-0 error: File not found: /var/tmp/Zope-2.7-root/opt/Zope-2.7/home/etc/zope.conf error: File not found: /var/tmp/Zope-2.7-root/opt/Zope-2.7/home/bin/runzope error: File not found: /var/tmp/Zope-2.7-root/opt/Zope-2.7/home/bin/zopectl error: File not found: /var/tmp/Zope-2.7-root/opt/Zope-2.7/home/var error: File not found: /var/tmp/Zope-2.7-root/opt/Zope-2.7/home/log error: File not found: /var/tmp/Zope-2.7-root/opt/Zope-2.7/home/var PreReq: /usr/sbin/useradd /sbin/chkconfig /bin/sh /bin/sh /bin/sh /bin/sh Requires(interp): /bin/sh /bin/sh /bin/sh Requires(pre): /bin/sh Requires(post): /bin/sh Requires(preun): /bin/sh Requires: python2.3 >= 2.3.3 ld-linux.so.2 libc.so.6 RPM build errors: File not found: /var/tmp/Zope-2.7-root/opt/Zope-2.7/home/etc/zope.conf File not found: /var/tmp/Zope-2.7-root/opt/Zope-2.7/home/bin/runzope File not found: /var/tmp/Zope-2.7-root/opt/Zope-2.7/home/bin/zopectl File not found: /var/tmp/Zope-2.7-root/opt/Zope-2.7/home/var File not found: /var/tmp/Zope-2.7-root/opt/Zope-2.7/home/log File not found: /var/tmp/Zope-2.7-root/opt/Zope-2.7/home/var I'm obviously missing something in my set-up, but can't see what. joining/leaving a Version through URL
by Michael A. Ruberto 21 May '04

21 May '04

I can join, save and leave a Version through an URL but I want to do it without being redirected to the version's management screens. It would be less confusing for the user if instead they were returned to the page they were editing after saving the Version. anybody know how to do this? THanks! Michael A.
