Re: [Zope] 'Unauthorized' Error
by Asad Habib 13 Apr '04

Hello. Thanks for your input. Actually, although there is an index_html in the root folder, it is trying to access the index_html in the /Test folder. I checked this several times ane even renamed the index_html in the root folder but got the same error. - Asad On Fri, 9 Apr 2004, James Cammarata wrote: > This sounds to me like you are trying to access a traversed item from a sub > folder. How do I get product to return other than ZMI page?
by John Schinnerer 13 Apr '04

13 Apr '04

Hello, I have created a product using mxmObjectManager as a base. I have a web form so a client can add these objects to folders from outside the ZMI. It works, but always returns the ZMI manage_main page (without left nav frame) for the folder the object was added to. Instead, I want to return to the empty 'add object' web form to add another. The web form invokes a python script to get to the manage_addAction method in the product: # pertinent pythonscript code request = container.REQUEST RESPONSE = request.RESPONSE context.manage_addProduct['myProduct'].manage_addAction(request.id,request) from the mxm README example, for manage_addAction I am using def manage_addAction(self, id=None, REQUEST=None) "Add instance to parent ObjectManager" mxmObjectManager.addClass(self, id, myProduct, REQUEST) ...plus it then sets properties of the added object and creates some StructuredDocument objects inside the added object. That all works fine. However... No matter what code I put in to try and return something else - at the end of manage_addAction or in the python script that calls it - the result is that the ZMI manage_main page is what I always get back. I'm guessing that the manage_addProduct['myProduct'] in the script is somehow hijacking the return from manage_addAction and returning the ZMI page...?? If so, and in any case, how can I return something other than that, like the web form again? thanks, John S. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Finance Tax Center - File online. Is there a way to look at the "raw" data making up an object in the ZODB?
by John Ziniti 12 Apr '04

12 Apr '04

I have a suspicion that earlier version of one our my products may have set an attribute to a large value. The newer versions of the Product no longer do it, but if some of the objects are still around from previous versions, wouldn't they still have the old attribute in the ZODB? Is there a way to look at what an object looks like in the ZODB and find out what attributes it has, without knowing the name of this now-defunct attribute? I realize this question is odd, and I hope I have explained clearly enough what is I want. Let me know if I can provide any more details, John Ziniti

Periodic Proxy Error: Connection Refused
by Adam Kessel 12 Apr '04

12 Apr '04

I'm running apache 1.3 and Zope out of Debian unstable. Zope 2.6.4-1.1, Apache 1.3.29.0.2-4. Every day or two, I notice my Zope site is slowing down, and eventually I get a Proxy error: connection refused when trying to access my Zope site. Shutting Zope down and restarting it seems to fix the problem for another day or so. I've also, in the past, had trouble with what appears to be an Apache memory leak, but I never was able to diagnose it nor was anyone else[0]. I'm using a fairly vanilla configuration for Apache/Zope, including VirtualHostBase. The relevant .htaccess line: RewriteRule ^zope/*(.*) http://my-domain.com:9673/VirtualHostBase/http/my-domain.com:80/zope/$1 [P] (not the real strings, but otherwise accurate) Can anyone give me some tips on troubleshooting/fixing this? I'm not seeing anything more in the error logs but: [Mon Apr 12 10:28:30 2004] [error] [client [IP address]] (111)Connection refused: proxy connect to [IP address] port 9673 failed -- Adam Kessel http://adam.rosi-kessel.org [0] http://lists.debian.org/debian-apache/2003/debian-apache-200309/msg00065.ht…

Ape 0.8 w/ Zope 2.6
by Jesse Pavel 12 Apr '04

12 Apr '04

Hello, I'm preparing to install Ape 0.8 in Zope 2.6.4, and I'm wondering what steps I'll need to take, in place of the modifications to zope.conf that I'd do with 2.7. Thanks! - Jesse
