Migrating from zope-2.6.1 with DBTab to 2.7

Hi, I'm currently working with zope-2.6.1, using DBTab product to split my database into several parts (all using FileStorage). I'd like to switch to zope-2.7, but after customizing my "etc/zope.conf" file : - Zope doesn't start when DBTab product is installed - if I remove DBTab, I can't access to my ZODB mount points because of an error message (This object from the DBTab product is broken !). Problems accessing container properties at product creation time

Hi Folks, I am trying to create a nested Zope product, and have trouble accessing properties from the container object... - I have a class MyFolder that extends Folder. - I have a class MyObj that extends (CatalogAware, SimpleItem, PropertyManager) - Class MyFolder is meant to contain several instances of class MyObj. I am able to create instances of class MyObj properly, and even have them be contained within MyFolder (using the inherited _setObject method of MyFolder). My problem is that I cannot seem to get manage_changeProperties to work on instances of MyObj at the time of addition (ie: just after I do the _setObject call). I have similar problems referencing methods/properties of MyFolder from within the methods of MyObject at the time of creation. However, after the addition has taken place, I can then through the ZMI, access or manipulate those same (and previously inaccessible/supposedly-non-existent) properties in MyFolder from within MyObj instances. What am I missing here. Is there anther step besides calling _setObject that I need to do, when the container is also a custom class in my product? Do I need to define my own __getattr__() for MyObj instances? I have tried to grep through the source code for various products, but am not seeing an obvious solution. I have the following class: class VirtualFile(Tabs, Implicit): "Wrapper around a file on the filesystem." [snip] manage_options = (({'label' : 'Info', 'action' : 'manage_main'}, {'label' : 'View/Download', 'action' : ''}, )) [snip] Let's suppose, I'm in zmi and access the management screen of an instance of this class via the following url: http://127.0.0.1:8002/Instances/tempo/ExternalFolder/EFExceptions.py/man age_main The link for the first management tab is just fine (href="manage_main"), but the second one (View/Download) is wrong, it's: href="http://127.0.0.1:8002/Instances/tempo/ExternalFolder". If I change the action field of 'View/Download' to 'index_html', the generated url will be okay again: href="index_html". What should I write in the action field to provide "http://127.0.0.1:8002/Instances/tempo/ExternalFolder/EFExceptions.py" as the url? Regards, Sandor

importing mail archives to Mailboxer

Greetings; Installed mailboxer and it tests well. The next step is to move a number of mail archives into the 'boxer' Googling has turned up very little information about this limited to a discussion on imeme and a reference to a script on ActiveState. Was wondering if anyone has any references to review or read up on,as I honestly don't have a clue on how to get this done (as python skills are week) ie: importing an mbox archive >zope mia /ch

Thanks Dieter, that was helpful. I'm using Python code outside Zope to generate templates containing DTML tags. The tags are generated from (meta)data contained in a DB. The same modules are also generating a number of other related documents. As I said, it was a design choice, and, in hindsight, may be not the best one. Would you recommend 1. I move my Python modules generating the DTML code to External methods in Zope? 2. Create DTML methods stored within Zope from the DTML-tagged files (using manage_addxxx)? 3. Keep the external files and render the DTML in Zope? I'm working on trying to figure out which functions/classes within OFS.DTMLDocument and FileSystemSite.FSDTMLMethod I need for the rendering, if you have any advice, it will be appreciated. Now to your special problem: rendering DTML code from a text file. * Why do you put DTML code in a text file? INSTANCE_HOME is wrong when running as NT service

Hi, I'm building a ZServerSSL Windows installer for Zope 2.7.0 (and Plone 2.0). ZServerSSL adds a HTTPS_ServerFactory class in ZServer/datatypes.py. The factory's __init__ method does M2Crypto SSL stuff like the following: ssl_ctx.load_cert_chain('%s/ssl/server.pem' % INSTANCE_HOME) I've added code to write the value of INSTANCE_HOME to a temp file in __init__. When Zope is running as a Windows service, the value written shows that INSTANCE_HOME == Zope's installation directory, not the instance's directory. When I invoke runzope.bat or 'python zopeservice.py debug', INSTANCE_HOME has the correct value. This looks like a bug somewhere; I didn't see any obvious candidate after digging around a little. (I'm thinking to work around this by adding a parameter to my <https-server> section in ZServer/components.xml to hold the correct value.)
