hi all, I am working on an application wherein I need to generate gantt charts using pygantt tool . When I run the script from the python shell prompt, it is working fine, but raises an error when i try to do it in Zope (using Zope 2.7 and python 2.3.2) I get the following traceback : ------------------------------------ Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/local/bin/pygantt", line 4, in ? run(sys.argv[1:]) File "/usr/local/lib/python2.3/site-packages/logilab/pygantt/main.py", line 110, in run output.write(r.render(proj)) File "/usr/local/lib/python2.3/site-packages/logilab/pygantt/renderers/renderer.py", line 339, in render AbstractGanttRenderer.render(self, project) File "/usr/local/lib/python2.3/site-packages/logilab/pygantt/renderers/renderer.py", line 61, in render self.open_table(project) File "/usr/local/lib/python2.3/site-packages/logilab/pygantt/renderers/renderer.py", line 390, in open_table self._h.init_drawing(width, height) File "/usr/local/lib/python2.3/site-packages/logilab/pygantt/renderers/PILHandler.py", line 71, in init_drawing self._default_font = load_font() File "/usr/local/lib/python2.3/site-packages/logilab/pygantt/renderers/PILHandler.py", line 60, in load_font return ImageFont.load(os.path.join(FONT_DIR, font_name)) File "/usr/local/lib/python2.3/site-packages/PIL/ImageFont.py", line 166, in load f._load_pilfont(filename) File "/usr/local/lib/python2.3/site-packages/PIL/ImageFont.py", line 76, in _load_pilfont raise IOError("cannot find glyph data file") IOError: cannot find glyph data file ------------------------------------------------------------ Can somebody throw light on this?

Delete value from REQUEST
by Ashley 22 Jan '04

22 Jan '04

Sorry if this is a really stupid question, but either way I'd realy appreciate some help! I have a problem deleting a value "theClient" from REQUEST. The value is set initially using: <dtml-call expr="RESPONSE.setCookie('theClient',whatever_value)"> I found some time ago this little external method posted by Daryl Tester: =========================================================== def removeRequest(REQUEST, item): "Remove an item from a REQUEST.form" try: del REQUEST.form[item] except: pass return None =========================================================== This obviously did not work straight away for this particular item, since it was in the cookies section of REQUEST, so I changed it to del REQUEST.cookies[item]. (Please bear with any ignorance I may have displayed here). This initially appears to work fine. I call the external method from within a page, and then view REQUEST while still on the same page, and theClient has disappeared. However, if I subsequently go to any other page it is still there. I have tried RESPONSE.expireCookie(item) in the external method, and Zope didn't seem to appreciate that! What am I doing wrong? TIA Ashley

Global Variables
by Asad Habib 22 Jan '04

Is there a way to declare a global variable in Zope? And is there a way to declare a variable that is available for an entire session? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. - Asad

DTMLFile usage
by fowlertrainer＠anonym.hu 22 Jan '04

22 Jan '04

Hello zope, I don't understand why the zope render some objects, and not render others. I have been used an minimal product to test it: When I write this: class .... .... def index_html(self): "used to view content of the object" import Globals df=Globals.DTMLFile('www/index',globals()) return df Zope is not rendering the result. When I write this: class .... .... import Globals index_html=Globals.DTMLFile('www/index',globals()) Zope is rendering my dtml file in correct way. So: if I do same things, zope why don't do same results ??? The calling zpt is this: <p tal:replace="structure here/minimal/index_html"/> -- Best regards, fowlertrainer mailto:fowlertrainer@anonym.hu

ZopeTestCase
by Sylvain Thénault 22 Jan '04

22 Jan '04

hi ! I've the following problems using ZopeTestCase (0.8.6) : - when I add a second "test" method to a ZTC based test case, I get the following traceback (the first test succeed) : Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/lib/zope/lib/python/Testing/ZopeTestCase/ZopeTestCase.py", line 105, in setUp self._setupFolder() File "/usr/lib/zope/lib/python/Testing/ZopeTestCase/ZopeTestCase.py", line 124, in _setupFolder self.app.manage_addFolder(folder_name) File "/usr/lib/zope/lib/python/OFS/Folder.py", line 46, in manage_addFolder self._setObject(id, ob) File "/usr/lib/zope/lib/python/OFS/ObjectManager.py", line 244, in _setObject v=self._checkId(id) File "/usr/lib/zope/lib/python/OFS/ObjectManager.py", line 77, in checkValidId raise BadRequestException, ('The id "%s" is invalid--' Bad Request: The id "test_folder_1_" is invalid--it is already in use. Note I don't have a tearDown method defined in my own test classe. - I'm using ZopeTestCase in combinaison with mechanicalcat [1] to do some functionnal tests. Using mechanicalcat to post a form which leads to some objects modifications (objects which had have been created in the afterSetUp method) works fine. The problem is that if I access to those objects using self.app, I get the old version of the object, but I get the updated version using self._app(). I guess I'm missing something with both problem... Any idea ? Minimal product refresh ?
by fowlertrainer＠anonym.hu 22 Jan '04

22 Jan '04

Hello ! After zope zpt, and mod_python testing I want to test the zope's product creation. I've been used the minimal product to test it. My product dir is: c:\zope\website\lib\python\Products\minimal\ 2004.01.19. 09:58 <DIR> . 2004.01.19. 09:58 <DIR> .. 2004.01.19. 09:54 1 948 minimal.py 2004.01.19. 09:36 2 refresh.txt 2004.01.19. 09:34 472 __init__.py The product files are: ------------------------------------------------------------------ __init__.py: import minimal def initialize(context): """Initialize the minimal product. This makes the object apear in the product list""" context.registerClass( minimal.minimal, constructors = ( minimal.manage_addMinimalForm, # The first method is # called when someone # adds the product minimal.manage_addMinimal ) ) ------------------------------------------------------------------ from OFS import SimpleItem params=[] class minimal(SimpleItem.SimpleItem): "minimal object" meta_type = 'minimal' manage_options = ( {'label': 'View', 'action': 'index_html'}, ) def __init__(self, id): "initialise a new instance of Minimal" self.id = id def index_html(self): "used to view content of the object" params.append(len(params)) s='The array is: '+str(params) s='<html><body>Hello World<br>%s</body></html>'%s return s def counter(self): "Shows the numbers from 1 to 10" result = '<html><body>Counts from from 0 to 10<br>\n' for i in range(10): result = result + str(i) + '<br>\n' result = result + '</body></html>\n' return result def squareForm(self): "User input form for the suare method" return """<html> <body> Please type the number you want squared:<br> <form name="form" action="square"><br> <input type="text" name="value:int"><br> <input type="submit" value="Square"> </form> </body> </html>""" def square(self, value=0): "Returns the input value squared" return """<html><body><b>The result of %s squared is:</b> %s</body></html>""" % (str(value), str(value*value)) # Administrative pages def manage_addMinimal(self, id, RESPONSE=None): "Add a Minimal to a folder." self._setObject(id, minimal(id)) RESPONSE.redirect('index_html') def manage_addMinimalForm(self): "The form used to get the instance' id from the user." return """<html> <body> Please type the id of the minimal instance:<br> <form name="form" action="manage_addMinimal"><br> <input type="text" name="id"><br> <input type="submit" value="add"> </form> </body> </html>""" ------------------------------------------------------------------ The questions are: 1.) How to I use this product in my site ? I try with this: a.) I've been create an object of the product minimal in the zope's root. b.) I've been create an index_html: <p tal:replace="structure python: here.minimal.index_html()"/> But I think, it is not the normal way of the usage... :-( 2.) Why the product don't refreshing ? I write some things to file (minimal.py), and I fast reload the page with many F5, but it is not refreshed. Why ??? The Zope version is 2.6, in winxp platform. Thanx for any advance. -- Best regards, fowlertrainer mailto:fowlertrainer@anonym.hu Ps: Please write to my personal email address, if possible, because I'm in digest mode. T H A N X !!!!

FileUpload, MySQL, Zope ZSQL problem
by Quince Gibson 22 Jan '04

22 Jan '04

Tried finding an answer to this question but I can't. I'm trying to upload pictures to a MySQL database with the normal conditions: <input type="file" name="picture1"> enctype="multipart/form-data" method="post" My ZSQL method has the following DTML: <dtml-var expr=picture1.data> I've also tried the same thing with dtml-sqlvar using type=string. I'm always greeted with the following error whenever I feel I'm going to make a breakthrough: FileUpload instance has no attribute 'data' removing the ".data" section gives me: <ZPublisher.HTTPRequest.FileUpload instance at 0x932c35c> as the entry for that particular field. Is it possible?????? Am I trying the impossible??? if not... how can I make it possible to get these pictures into this database. (i'm starting to lose my cool on this computer). Thanks for any help. If it's not possible I guess I'll have to bloat my Object Database rather than my relational databse. Quince Baltimore, MD.

FedEx Direct Transactions
by Declan Shanaghy 22 Jan '04

22 Jan '04

Has anyone ever used fedex ship manager direct, to request rates and tracking info, etc...from fedex. I recently set up my account to do this but i keep getting 400 - Bad Request errors when i submit transactions. Below is the debug ouput from zope. I followed their manual to the letter, which includes having that strange content-type of image/gif when im only sending text. Its not a problem with the transaction itself, must be the headers or something. Anyone spot anything wrong with it? send: 'POST /GatewayDC HTTP/1.0 HTTP/1.1\r\n' send: 'Host: gatewaybeta.fedex.com:443\r\n' send: 'Accept-Encoding: identity\r\n' send: 'Referer: D3Software\r\n' send: 'Accept: image/gif, image/jpeg, image/pjpeg, text/plain, text/html, */*\r\n' send: 'Content-Type: image/gif\r\n' send: 'Content-Length: 137\r\n' send: '\r\n' send: '0,"211"1,"Register"4003,"Declan Shanaghy"4008,"4757 Snyder Lane"4011,"Rohnert Park"4012,"CA"4013,"94928"4014,"US"4015,"4157139916"10,"285168856"99,""' reply: 'HTTP/1.1 400 Bad request\r\n' header: Server: Netscape-Enterprise/4.1 header: Date: Thu, 22 Jan 2004 01:06:56 GMT header: Content-length: 147 header: Content-type: text/html header: Connection: close __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
