Programmatically managing SOAPMethod objects within ZClasses

I'm developing a ZClass that uses SOAPMethod objects to make calls on a remote server. The goal I'm trying to accomplish is to give end users a form where they can set the remote hostname and port to connect to for all SOAPMethods in the ZClass. The problem I'm running into is figuring out how to call each object's "manage_edit" method; frankly, I'm lost to the point that I have no inkling of where to begin. I *could* modify the SOAPMethod's source to look at my class's propertysheets, but that seems to go against the general OOP-ness of Zope. Any suggestions? -- Kirk Strauser The Day Companies

Redirecting to an "under construction" page

Hi, I need all URLs of a Zope site to be temporarily redirected to an "under construction" page. http://www.foo.com/any/path?any=query --> http://www.foo.com/underconstruction_html I've tried through an access rule script but it seems that the request.RESPONSE.redirect(...) doesn't work in that case. Any idea ? TTWTYPE atribute error

evaluate request string as dtml-tree folder

hi, i'm sure this problem has a relatively simple fix, but since i'm new to zope it's all somewhat complex to me. i'm trying to pass an arguement from the REQUEST (e.g. myzope.com/index_html?foo=bar) to a dtml-tree in a dtml method (e.g. <dtml-tree foo branches="obejctValues"> where foo's content should evaluate as a folder which the tree will use as a root). i think the issue is that the <dtml-tree> sees foo as a string and not an object/folder. is there anyway of getting the foo string evaluated or converted to an object? thanks, jason yee

I have attached the method of a class I am trying to use. It queries (I think) the catalog 'users' and uo = ro[0] returns a mybrains instance. When I add the .getObject() I get the error listed below. Worse, I can't clear the error without deleting the directory in which the object resides. Incorporating a Python module for script use

I must be missing something obvious but I am at a loss for what it is. I am attempting to include a Python module ( the module at http://python-dsv.sourceforge.net/) in my Zope 2.6.2 Win2000 site so that it can be used by Zope python scripts. I have been following ( at least as far as I can tell) the instructions provided in the "README.txt" of the "PythonScripts" product at "lib/python/Products/PythonScripts/", namely to create a new Product directory, add the module, and an "__init__.py" file according to the instructions, restart the server. All appears well there. I then attempt to import the module in a Python script( which appears to work). My first attempt to use it though results in authentication requests and eventually ( after using correct authentication for the admin) the following message: "System Unavailable This site is currently experiencing technical difficulties. Please contact the site administrator for more information. For additional technical information, please refer to the HTML source for this page. Thank you for your patience. Error type: Unauthorized Error value: The container has no security assertions. Access to 'organizeIntoLines' of (module 'DSV.DSV' from 'F:\WEBSIT~1\lib\python\Products\DSV\DSV.py') denied." I am guessing it is something simple I have overlooked but I am not sure where to go next.

LocalFS

I have a directory on a network drive with employees images. I like to produce a page with everyone's picture that I can click on and get more information on that employee. I am using LocalFS to be able to see the directory that contains the images, I am naming the Local Filesystem object "myImages". In order to get the images I have a dtml method with the code: <dtml-in expr="myImages.objectValues('Image')"> That code returns the error that objectValues has not been defined. Can I do this with LocalFS? and can I treat a localFs object just as another zope folder? Thanks Hara

Hi All, We have some problems with TextIndexNG2.04 on linux Zope 2.6.2, Plone 1.05 If we catalog some file like objects (we have custom made objects extending File (portal-file)), with a .pdf extension in the id of the file, the following error occurs (in zope console debug mode): Error: May not be a PDF file (continuing anyway) Error (0): PDF file is damaged - attempting to reconstruct xref table... Error: Couldn't find trailer dictionary Error: Couldn't read xref table . And the object is not catalogued (nothing in the Searchable text). Now, if we rename the file to another name without the extension .pdf, the metadata of the object gets catalogued but not the pdf file itself Does anybody have an idea? Any workaround ? -- Fnk P.S. List problem

Hi, I am having trouble creating a list. I can create a list using the following: <dtml-in expr="_.range(cs_size)"> <input type="text" name="pbr1_temp" size="6"> </dtml-in> I see the information using the following: <dtml-in expr="_.range(cs_size)"> <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('pbr1', pbr1_temp[cell_stack_counter])"> </dtml-in> Now I need to load the list to check items. I thought I could do the following: <dtml-in lookup_all_history_record > <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('creation_date_inspect_temp', creation_date_inspect)"></dtml-in> But if I try to display the creation_date_inspect_temp[sn_counter] I have a Keyerror object unknown.
