Hello zope, I want to use images in Zope Server, but it is don't succeeds. The page is ZPT kind: <td><img src="../Images/ULeft.jpg" width="143" height="73"></td> <td width="32" height="50" background="../Images/TSILeft1.jpg"><img src="1PIX.gif" width="32"></td> This file is placed in SUBDIR1 (RootFolder/SubDir1). The Images are in Root Folder. (RootFolder/Images) This filed is called by the root folder: <p tal:replace="structure SubDir1/mainzpt"/> So where I must load the images ? Zope consultants in the UK

I am looking to see what the range and level of professional zope consultancy/support is in UK, if any. If anyone knows names and contact addresses of any firms that offer these sort of services could you let me know. Also are there any recruitment websites where you could look for UK programmers with zope/python experience? On a more general note, what is the uptake and usage of zope like in the UK? From what I can tell the most enthusiastic take-up has been in Germany. Thanks Dennis. I dunno whether I'd call it simpler, but it would definitely be useful in some cases. TextIndexNG2.04 problem

We're handling something similar, most of our files are in the 60-80Mb range and in varying formats from plain text to MS-Word to PDF. We're just getting into the testing phases now so I'm not certain if the performance will be noticeable different under load or not but it's food for thought at least. We're storing the files on the filesystem with an ExtFile type Product and using TextIndexNG2 to index the fulltext of the documents into Zope. The theory being that we can minimize the bloat to the ZODB by only storing the data needed for the searches in the ZODB and keeping the actual file contents out on the file system. Someone with a better working knowledge of Zope might be able to give you a theoretical guestimate on the performance differences, if any, of storing/serving large objects internally vs externally. Using all_meta_types correctly

I'm trying to limit the "add" menu in a folderish object as part of my product, and I seem to be missing something. I've added the following lines to my object's class definition: all_meta_types = ( {'name':'Narya-Topic', 'action':'manage_addTopicForm'}, {'name':'Narya-Thread', 'action':'manage_addThreadForm'} ) meta_types = all_meta_types based on information I was able to find by searching on zope.org (but it's very sparse). And there's an example in App/Product.py which looks very similar to this. But, when I try to use the resulting add menu, I get a "Not Found" message on 'manage_addTopicForm'. When I remove these lines, and use the unlimited add menu, it directs me not to: myfolder/manage_addTopicForm but to myfolder/manage_addProduct/Narya/manage_addTopicForm obviously mirroring the Python syntax: myfolder.manage_addProduct['Narya'].manage_addTopicForm() which I've already gotten used to using in my product code. Can anybody tell me what I should change here? If I wanted to tell it to access the latter URL, would I use Python or URL syntax? OR, is this telling me I have something more important wrong? Pyperl installation with ActivePython - still having problems

Hello, I tried other way with ActivePython, I looks simpler but here is my history: Ive installed ActivePython 2.2.3 in my Zope server to prove the compatibility between them and to prove the possibility of calling AcrivePerls functions from Zope. I had to install 2.2.3 because Python Package Manager is not included in version 2.3.2. So I have on question: Is there any other module like pyppm in 2.3.2 which could be used to install a module in ActivePython 2.3.2? Ive been looking for pyperl module, but I couldnt find it in the PyPI Url. Ive read Pyperl is the module which can give me the possibility of calling Perl from Python. I dont know if there is any other one. On the other hand, I tried to use pyppm from my 2.2.3 installation, Im behind a firewall so I configured HTTP_proxy, HTTP_proxy_user and HTTP_proxy_pass environment variables but Im still having problems. I get the following error when I type the command pyppm install pyperl: **************************************************************** PPM>install pyperl Install package pyperl? (Y/n): y Installing package 'pyperl'... Connecting to SOAP server ActiveState Package Repository... ERROR: (7, 'getaddrinfo failed') **************************************************************** >From the browser I can connect the SOAP server and I can download the pyppmserver.pl but this is empty. I'm setting up a blog now and all appears to be fine. I'd like to make a change to the interface though so that: The user clicks a link on the index page which takes them to: blog/manage_addEntryForm (no problems here) Then when they add the entry it DOESN'T take them to manage_workspace but back to the index page. However, I don't see to be able to find the source page for the manage_addEntryForm so that I can put it in. Does anyone know where this page is 'kept'? Kate

Button to pack data base

I would like to include a button or link on a Zope site that would allow a user with the right privileges ( what privileges do they need -- can I restrict their "management" capability to just the pack function?) to pack the data base. I would like to have it use the appearance of the website, not the ZMI. Any idea of how to do this? Directions to code that does this in the ZMI that I could examine?
