limiting access to ZClass

Hi everyone, I've got a relatively simple news ZClass. It's a greatly simplified version of Kevin's KM|Net News. I have a question related to permissions. Each news story will fit into one of a number of categories. Examples would include sports, academics, arts, etc. I would like to make one person responsible for each category. Right now, 'category' is a property of the ZClass. In this case, the brains get initialized (because they are not persistent objects and must be re initialized every time the catalog comes into memory) and we sniff for a 'lexicon' attribute, which, if there isn't one, is assigned a new lexicon object. Namespace problem

Hi, I have a folder with an index_html that calls subfolder/methodA. methodA in turn calls subfolder/methodB. This fails miserably with a NameError. I've tried the following variants for the calls: In subfolder/methodA: 1.<dtml-if "methodB"> 2.<dtml-if "methodB()"> The above fail with NameError:methodA 3.<dtml-if "subfolder.methodB"> 4.<dtml-if "subfolder.methodB()"> These fail with NameError:subfolder What is the proper syntax? I'm also using methodB in a dtml-in tag. Andres Corrada

ZClass-instance properties

File-Uploading

Hello. How Do I handle File-Uploads (using DTML) in Zope? I want to give users the posibility to upload any kind of File to their User-Directory WITHOUT using the /manage facility. Apache and Zope setup problem ...

I apologize profusely in advance - no doubt what I am about to report has been covered before. While my own ZServer installation of the latest Zope works flawlessly, our sysadmin is desperately trying to get Zope working with Apache (v1.3.9). If someone could look at the following setup and error snippets, I would greatly appreciate it. I need our site to run Zope so that I can migrate my ZODB over and publish it to the outside world. I don't know anything about Apache so, if possible, please try and phrase your response appropriately. Help! very stuck.

Hi. I am trying to use zope to create a site where all staff can upload content prepared any old how into a few directories (say using netscape's composer or maybe word save as html etc). I have created a method called viewer which basically says <dtml-var standard_html_header> <dtml-var "_[file]"> <dtml-var standard_html_footer> which I want to call from the search page or in the index_html of each folder with something like ... ... <dtml-in "objectItems(['DTML Document','Image','File'])"> <dtml-if "_.getitem('id',1) != 'index_html' and title != ''"> <li><a href="viewer?file=<dtml-var id>"><dtml-var title></a> etctetc ... or even better from the catalog ... ... <a href="viewer?file=<dtml-var "catalog.getpath(data_record_id_)">"> <dtml-var title></a> ... this doesn't work whereas using the output from the site-map examples works but only for the directory you are in too not subfolders. (same as catalog but at least it partly works) eg. ... !--#in "objectItems(['DTML Document','Image','File'])"-->  <li><a href="viewer?file="></a> etctetc ... I have to be doing something wrong. My aim is to always view objects via another object thus not having to have any dtml in the content document (so anyone can submit stuff without mucking up the site look, navigation etc by omitting/erasing/knowing about headers and footers, really) Make any sense?
