Problems with Zope 2.1.0 install on RH 5.2

RedHat 5.2 , Zope 2.1.0 final Run the ./install script as root, it crashes with segmentation fault, core dumped. Cool, I didn't know this. The "official" recommendation is still external webserver SSL + Zope, however. You can use Apache or IIS (or even Netscape Enterprise Server) to provide SSL for incoming clients. The webserver then talks to Zope via PCGI (or, as of late, FastCGI) and serves up Zope content. Integration with IIS.

Hi, I have a web site that I would like to use Zope with. It currently runs on Windows NT and has a security system integrated with the filesystem. My question is, is there a HOW-TO or an FAQ or something on how to integrate zope with IIS? I need to keep using IIS so that I don't lose this already build security stuff. Thanks -- Failure is more frequently from want of energy than want of capital.

We are trying to create a method where we can dynamicly display an image based on the folder the page exists in. The images are named according to their location within the website; hd = top level section = sublevel ideally; top level images mysection would have an image of 'hdmysection' yoursection would have an image of 'hdyoursection' I want a tag I can put in any page and display the correct image without having to create a new unique property in all 2000 pages/ 200 folders. <dtml-var myimage> I can create to string that matches the id of the image 'images.hdmysection' but i cannot get Zope to go and fetch that object. Did I explain that properly? DAve.

UserDB problem [very urgent]

Hello... I am really getting desperate... I installed both GUF and UserDB both are giving me the same error... That's strange... I create a temporary folder, insert an index_html that just contains HTML text. Create a UserDB folder. I can add/update/delete users from the managment console... I unchecked the Access Content and View from the security tab of the index_html document... When trying to access the /tempoDir/ folder I get an error and the following traceback ... Please, someone give me a hint on what I am doing wrong? Am I missing some permissions? Env: Solaris Sparc, Zope 2.0.1, ZOracleDA 2.1.0, UserDB 1.3.0 ... I am using Apache through PCGI ... String to object ID

We have a short snippet of code that builds an image name from properties when a web page is called. We need to use this string to directly call the image object and display it in the page. For the life of me I cannot figure out how to coerce a string into an object id. Any hints? currently: <dtml-with "_.namespace(imagename='images.hd' + section)"> <dtml -var imagename> </dtml-with> this correctly prints the name of the image object we want. 'images.hd.thisimage' How do I use that to display the image? DAve.

Read the DTML Reference (search for expressions or the "expr" tag). It's at http://www.zope.org/Documentation/Guides/DTML-HTML/DTML.html Here's an example: <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('var1',0)"> <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('var2',1)"> <dtml if "var1 != var2"> <dtml-var var1> is not equal to <dtml-var var2> </dtml-if> Setting variables for use in DTML in the REQUEST namespace is a convention. You can compare almost any two objects this way, though (such as the field result of a SQL method to the title_or_id of a Zope object). Note that writing <dmtl-call "REQUEST.set('var1',0)"> is equivalent to <dtml-call expr="REQUEST.set('var1',0)">. The former is shorthand for the latter.
