Hello, I need to store a large amount of textual data in oracle 8 using a zsql method. I used type BLOB for the column, but when I try to save to I get the error message "oci.error ... Invalid type code, 113, for column 7" Column 7 is type BLOB in the oracle database, but in my SZQL method I try to update that field with "". - Does Zope know how to handle BLOBs? - Should I be using a different SZQL type than "string"? - Is there is a different data type I should be using in the database? Hmm, some more changes to the interface I guess, in my version things seem a bit smoother. The Views created can be assigned to all methods of the ZClass, manage_access, and propertysheets in the form of 'propertysheets/Propertysheet_Name/manage'. No need to create another method. Howdy Zopesters. Just wanted to send an end-of-the-week note saying thanks to everyone for the heavy testing on the Zope alphas and all the detailed reports that have been submitted. Since we are still in alpha, we are finishing features at the same time that we are responding to bugs. Those of you on the zope-checkins mailing list can see that a lot of progress is being made. At the same time, we're starting again to work through the backlog in the Collector. I appreciate everybody's patience. We unfortunately don't have enough resources to respond immediately to each issue that is raised, but we are doing our best. If anybody feels that we should be doing better, please send me a note. newbie question, #in tag

Hi! I am a newbie to Zope, and first of all I would like to say that it looks really good... Impressive...!!! :-) Well, let's get to the point. I have a form where I have an INPUT tag that is like this: <INPUT TYPE="TEXT" NAME="cant" SIZE="3" MAXLENGTH="3"> It is used to input a number... But in the DTML file used to process the form, I want to use a range where the max is the "cant" inputed at the INPUT tag... I have a , but obviously Zope complains that strings cannot be used in 'in' tags... So, how do I do to iterate in asequence that starts on 1 and ends on 'cant'? On python I would create a list but I don't know how to do this using only DTML methods. Is it possible? TIA /B

strange authentication behavior...

hi everyone, i'm having a weird problem with authentication. here is the situation: - i have a publicly accessible folder which has all the default security settings, everyone can view the documents. - i have a subfolder named "images" containing images used in the documents of the public directory. this "images " folder inherits the default settings. - another subfolder of the public directory is restricted to a username/password (which works fine and dandy), and documents in this subfolder use the images from the "images" public folder as well, they are not copied into the secured folder. Here is the weirdness: When a user enters the restricted area everything shows fine, the documents and the pictures which are pulled from the unsecured directory. However, once the user "logs out" and returns to the unsecured area i am getting authentication screens asking for name and password when it tries to load the *pictures*. even if i try to use the name/password which gets me into the secured area they will not show and the password screens come back... Anyone have any ideas? this is really strange... Jens Vagelpohl
