Hi all, Zope 2.1.3 has been released. This update contains fixes for a race condition that could cause Zope to hang on very high-traffic sites, two database packing bugs, and a bug that caused Zope to sometimes hang instead of shutting down when the shutdown function was accessed over a very fast network. dtml: got variable name as string, how to get to variable?

hello, i am writing a sql method that goes like this: select * from packages where <dtml-if package> package ~* <dtml-sqlvar package type=string> and </dtml-if> <dtml-if priority> priority ~* <dtml-sqlvar priority type=string> and </dtml-if> <dtml-if section> section ~* <dtml-sqlvar section type=string> and </dtml-if> [...] 1 = 1; etc. this is a bit repetitive. so i thought i'd save a bit of typing (well, actually i had a python snippet generate the above) and created a property (type "tokens", looks like a list of strings) listing the field names in the database and thought i'd do something like <dtml-in fieldnames> <dtml-if ???> <dtml-var sequence-item> ~* <dtml-sqlvar ??? type=string> and </dtml-if> </dtml-in> 1 = 1; so in sequence-item i have the name of the variable i want, as a string. the question is: what do i put in ???, or, how do i get to the value of that variable? also, if there is an easier, entirely different way of doing this, suggestions are welcome :) -- erno PS. please cc: me if you reply.

If I put the images in Zope, I get: revision control versions ease of updates from development to production sites (just copy the data.fs files) and a whole host of other advantages. As well, there's not the issue of having to keep a list of files in your head or whatever, so that Zope doesn't start referring to non-existant or renamed images. Anthony

Zcatalog and random numerical key error

hi all, situation: got a zclass, that is catalog aware. when searches are made, some return results, while other times it returns random numerical key error. i remembered seeing this symptom on zope.org last year. but it has now disappeared. anybody got a clue on what's going on? tia traceback is included: ---start traceback---- <TD WIDTH="90%"> <H2>Error</H2> The server has encountered an error while publishing this resource. Putting a Poll in a web page...

He there. I'm toying with the Poll product, which seems quite neat. I'm sure this problems comes from my inexperience with working with products, but maybe you can help my understanding with this one issue, and broader issues as well. I've created a poll, which works just fine when I go to it by itself, but I want to include it in another page. What tags do I write to put the poll (ID: pollitem1) in another web page? I've tried <dtml-with pollitem1><dtml-var index_html></dtml-with> , Which shows the poll, but I get a "resource not found" error when I run it, because it's trying to submit to /Users/Username/processVotes, instead of /Users/Username/pollitem1/processVotes. The submit line is created in pollitem1/index_html . Do I just need to edit that index_html file to add that to the path? Or is there another way of tagging that pollitem1 in my DTML-document, so that it works? I hope this question is not too vague, I'm still trying to master the semantics of this paradigm. An earlier note on this list referred to a Zope article by Jon Udell in Byte. help on addProperty

Hi there, I'm having a newbie problem: I've created a form asking for some fields (id, title, link) and I want to create a folder with id=id and title=title but with a new property called link whose value is the value typed in the form for field named link. after having quickly read the list archives, I'm now able to create the folder, but whenever I try to create the property it's created in the folder's parent. here's what I do: ---------- <dtml-call "manage_addFolder(REQUEST['id'], REQUEST['title'], REQUEST=_.None)"> <dtml-with "REQUEST.id"> <dtml-call "manage_addProperty('link', REQUEST['link'], 'string')"> </dtml-with> ---------- the manage_addFolder works as expected, but the manage_addProperty creates the property in the newly created folder's parent. please could someone give me some help. another question: where can I find a complete reference on useable methods and their parameters ? thanks.
