As always, Kudos to Olivier Andrich! Suggestion: I am running SuSE Linux 6.3, and over the years have had occasional difficulty with the Redhat RPM's. That seems to be getting better as the glibc2 conversions and hints at file structure standardization are progressing. Still, it would be nice to have a site which provided all formats. Suggestion: How about something like the ability to "personalize" the Zope site allowing visitors to select the objects they want to "track". Looking forward to the site. It's exciting addition to the Zope world. Sybase and locale!

Hi, I just saw another message in the Python eGroup list regarding Sybase installation problem with the locale. I had the same problem while dealing with Sybase on Zope. So I guess I'd post my own message again here, together with the other person's message. In short, when installing Sybase on Linux machines, MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE THE RIGHT LOCALE INFO IN YOUR locales.dat FILE. I guess in the Zope Sybase README.txt file (both on-line and in the distribution) http://www.zope.org/Products/DA/SybaseDA/README.txt it would be a good idea to add a line of comment regarding the locale. (As simple as asking the user to double check the locale environment variable LC_ALL, and make sure that his/her locales.dat file includes the right locale name for his/her machine platform.) (A side comment: Dave Cole just release a new Python Sybase module, and his version is 0.4 http://www.egroups.com/group/python-list/75697.html? http://www.itga.com.au/~djc/sybase.html I don't know whether there is a duplication of effort here. But it would be good if Digicool and Dave could coordinate a bit. Is there a <dtml-comma> for SQL UPDATEs?

I now have all my insert and select queries working, but am having trouble with an UPDATE. For the query: UPDATE users SET <dtml-sqlgroup> <dtml-sqltest login type=nb optional> <dtml-sqltest email type=nb optional> </dtml-sqlgroup> WHERE <dtml-sqltest userid type=int> This works perfectly except when both login and email are provided because the query becomes: UPDATE users SET login='a_login' email='an_email' WHERE id=1 Without the comma between the login and email, it doesn't work. I loved the <dtml-and> and <dtml-or> tags for SELECT statements. I tried a <dtml-comma> but no such luck. Is there a way to escape structured text? I have a paragraph -- one that has an aside like this one, mind you -- and I don't want it to be turned into a <dl></dl> structure. I don't see any obvious way to avoid this, short of editing the source or avoiding the -- thing completely (which is annoying, and not entirely under my control). user not authenticating

Hi everyone, I've got a system whereby a person has to have a username and password to submit a news item. Later, when that person is viewing the homepage, any news items that they've submitted are supposed to display an "edit" button that they can use to, you guessed it, edit the item. This works perfectly for me as manager. The weird thing is that when I go the the submission page, I get challenged for a password, I put in the name and password of one of the non-Manager users, type the article, publish it, but no cool "Edit" button. I put a <dtml-var AUTHENTICATED_USER> tag in the article body to try to see who Zope thinks I am and found that AUTHENTICATED_USER is still Anonymous even when I've successfully entered a password to submit the article. Am I making sense? (It's getting late.) So it seems I'm authenticating enough to submit an article but AUTHENTICATED_USER isn't being changed. Sybase error: Products.SybaseDAv2.db.Error: ct_command():

Hi, I am getting a Sybase error while trying to query select * from myTable The error message is: "Error, Products.SybaseDAv2.db.Error: ct_command(): user api layer: external error: This routine cannot be called while results are pending for a command that has been sent to the server." I can use isql to see the table without problem. This table does contain a few constraint foreign keys, some of them were set to null. Could this be the problem? Or does the error have something to do with transactions? I have tried to restart Zope and Sybase, but the error persists. Further info about ZopeTime() not returning correct values

OK, after trying some other things out, I have some updated information. <dtml-var "ZopeTime()"> OR <dtml-with ZopeTime> <dtml-var fCommonZ> </dtml-with> Returns the correct information. However, on the same page <dtml-var "ZopeTime()" fmt="%b %d %Y %I:%M:%S%p"> Returns time-5hours. Further investigation has revealed that when it is 5 hours behind, it indicates a timezone of "MST", yet when the correct time is show, it shows "US/Mountain". Relate to this, I also often get the following error. Any help would be appreciated.
