OOPS! Correction... ...but apparently it's not. If I were writing this in PHP: <html><body> Okay, boys and girls! Let's open the magic box and generate a random number! (applause)<br and drum roll> <? x = int mt_rand(0,9); echo x ?><br, strike up the band> Wow! Wasn't that exciting? Oh no! I forgot the magic number<br, shrieks of horror> <? echo x ?><br, strike up the band again> Oh, of course! How could I forget!<br, fade to black> </body></html> ...but apparently DTML *does* forget. Call that daggone variable more than once and you have to run the formula that generates a random digit! Bam! Variable's gone. Is there no way around this? Please help... BenO

ZSQL methods / input quote filtering

Hello! I've been working on a web form that has several large textarea fields for text input, which is working well, but once in a while people will enter single or double quotes around a word in that field. example, outer quotes are mine: "I come from a small eastern village named "New York" and while I was growing up there I learned how to play a game called 'stickball'." Sometimes that causes an error on the SQL insert or update. The text is also sometimes truncated at the quote. I thought ZSQL methods were supposed to safely escape all input content. Why is this happening? Is there a simple, accepted manner to have this behavior safely quashed besides setting up individual Python substitutions for every possible character that needs filtering? That seems as if it should be an unnecessary hack.. Thank you Chris cbeaumon(a)msri.org

The default quality setting for both ImageMagick and PIL is documented as 75, which is why I chose that as the default for Photo. The existing Photo displays are only changed if you regenerate them after changing the settings, either through the "Regenerate All" button or by them being generated automatically on-the-fly. If you don't have "Pregenerate Displays" checked, it will only regenerate the displays that are already generated. The reason is that I assume the user is regenerating because of a change in settings (such as quality or engine), and only wants to redo the existing displays, but would still want on-the-fly generation of those that haven't yet been generated. 2) When you initially upgrade and set timeout to something other than zero, your current displays' ages are likely much greater than the new timeout. Zope 2.4.2 crashing every 15 minutes! help...

Been using Zope way too long to have this happen and not know why, but here I am. I installed 2.4.2 and moved over the Data.fs, /var/ and products from my 2.3.3. There were lots of little Product errors that I have worked out but Zope still crashes (or stops responding and restarts) every 12-20 minutes. Not a great uptime. <sigh> Running it in debug mode I get this (this is it just crashing and restarting). Any help would be great.
