Well, you didn't say why it is important that you not have multiple cookie crumblers. Multiple cookie crumblers is the answer, I'd say, but it's ultimately your call. Shane

adding an image

I need to add lots of images to my ZODB. I will use a ZSQL method to walk the staff list and build the file names to import. I will then pass this file like this: <dtml-call "manage_addImage('100_m','M:\\Officeweb\\photos\\100_M.jpg','100_m')"> But that doesn't import the image. It creates the object with a title and id but there is no image. i'm sure it is there and if I import it using the management screen it works just fine. What am I missing? -mjm

Can Zope 2.4.0 be run "naked" (without Apache/Squid/IIS)?

On the "Zope Changes" page for Zope 2.4.0 (http://www.zope.org/Products/Zope/2.4.0/CHANGES.txt) one of the changes mentioned is "Fixed handling of invalid HTTP requests." One of the main arguments (as I understood them) for running Zope behind Apache/Squid/IIS was that Zope was susceptible to denial of service attacks due to the way it handled HTTP requests. The Apache/Squid/IIS front-end was used to sanitize the HTTP request. Does the change made with the release of 2.4.0 fix this problem? If so, what other roadblocks are there to running Zope "naked"? an idea for TextAreaEditor

Hello Kedai, (since I can't reach you thru your email adress I write to the zope-mailing list and hope that you will listen to them) I've downloaded the TextAreaEditor last week. I found today that it would be nice if a manager could select if an user sees a special button or not. Is that an idea you would agree ? I've modify the DHTML todo so. There is an new Array onoff which could be filled by new dtml boolean properties; switch a button will be seen or not. Also I had put a new justify-full button. Tell me if you want this in your project. You can safe the attachments on disk an take a look with IE without ZOPE. Another idea would be an international version. Windows Internet Explorer login into Zope

I have been building an extranet for a client with Zope and now stumbled in a login problem with a couple of users who have Internet Explorer installed on their windows 2000-laptops. Version of the browser is 5.5 - as far as the users can tell. I have no access to the users computers and from time to time only guide them in phone, if they have massive problems. In the extranet we use 128-bit encryption and users are authenticated from mysqlUserFolder, since passwords are changed daily. All the bits and pieces of the extranet are not programmed in Zope, but also in php. These php-applications get authentication data from the mysql-database tables that are shared with mysqlUserFolder. Authentication method is http basic authentication. But now to the problems that users have faced so far. If you can help at all or can guide me to more information. 1) Unable to connect at all - not even authentication requests to the screen I am writing guide to the users and the points so far are - check if there is connection at all to internet - basic http-connection to our public server - if browser has 128-bit security ( Help -> About Internet Explorer ) - download newer IE or high security pack - internet settings from internet explorer ( Tools -> Internet Options ) - Security, use Fortezza, SSL 2.0, SSL 3.0 - What else should be checked in these options? 2) Authentication is asked multiple times when connecting to Zope User can get a login screen, but after writing correct username and password login screen pops up again. When user types in the password again, he/she gets to the frontpage, but when he/she clicks a link login screen pops up again. If user types in the password, everything migth work ok. Sometimes it seems that checking 'Save password in password list'-migth help. Debugging the authentication problem is real hard work - and for me the log-files don't seem to bring any enligthment. Apache log don't show anything unusual and zope log doesn't show anything unusual either. And the good part is that only the users who are far far far away have these problems. ,-) -huima

I suppose you might have to know for sure that you have a compliant filesystem, and then hack the Makefile created by ./configure?
