problems with zcatalog...

hello all, we've been having some major problems with zope catalogs lately. 1] we have catalogaware zclasses 2] we have a catalog to index them 3] we want to sort those objects by modification time but nothing is being updated !!! when we change the properties or name of the id, or anything inside those objects, the modifications don't appear in the results of the search. we checked on the web and found that our catalog had to be called Catalog, so we created a new catalog with this id and tried again.. and it's still not working (tried on zope 2.3.2 and zope 2.4.1) what do we have to do to solve our problem. ? thanx a lot, junk

Howto get a german 2.4.1 version ?

Hi all, I browsed thru the zope.org, zdp.zope.org, cmf.zope.org for a way to get a german version of 2.4.1 . I found ZI18N_Document, Localizer, Translator, zzLocale. I'm very confused. What is the right product for the right use ? Can anybody give me a light ? Thanks, Dirk

Hi, I'm developing a site with zope and I have the following problem: This site is some kind of news-site, I want to show more prewritten DTML articles' summary on a page, and then by clicking on them the chosen whole article should be shown alone on a page. The articles are got from a catalog-object automaticaly, and the whole articles are supposed to be shown by a DTML method. I just can't find a way to tell the HTML <a href=...> command - which is reached from the summary - to call the method sothat it was given the arguments of the object got from the catalog ( - simply: to give the method the article's ID). <dtml-in ... > <dtml-with "_.namespace(article_id=id)"> <dtml-var showing_method> </dtml-with> ... - works (but does not what I want), uses the article_id variable; <dtml-in ... > <dtml-with "_.namespace(article_id=id)"> <a href=showing_method>....</a> </dtml-with> ... - works not, the article_id is not passed to showing_method. Is there a way to pass these arguments simply? Or is there a way to call a method with arguments set without using the namespace variable? Gergely BORGULYA

CST and disappearing variables

I'm running into what appears to be the same problem brought up by others several months ago regarding "random" disappearing of session variables under CoreSessionTracking. After combing through the archives, there didn't appear to be any definitive answer for the problems. I *think* my setup is fairly basic, but I can't figure out how to consistently reproduce the problem. In fact, *I* haven't been able to make it happen at all, but every 1-2 out of 10 orders ends up with an empty cart, and the customer clearly remembers their cart was not empty. I'm not using ZEO or anything fancy, just the RAM-based storage and cookies. I have the following setup for adding, updating, and viewing the cart: Python Script 'add': 'item' is a dictionary that is populated with simple numbers and strings. 'cart' is an array of 'items' and is stored like this: session = context.SDM.getSessionData() cart = session.get('cart', []) cart.append(item) session.set('cart', cart) Python Script 'update': A form passes in 'remove' as the cart index of the item to be removed: session = context.SDM.getSessionData() cart = session.get('cart', []) remove = REQUEST.form.get('remove', None) if remove is not None: del cart[remove] session.set('cart', cart) To place the items in a mail message for sending the order, I use the following simple Python Script and loop over it with dtml-in: session = context.SDM.getSessionData() return session.get('cart', []) This seems so simple, but seemingly randomly the above script returns [] instead of what is in the cart. There is another session variable (a dictionary 'custinfo') that is populated towards the end of the user's ordering process that has so far not been empty on any orders. I wish I could provide more, but I don't know what else to try. Maybe someone can see a flaw in the way I'm storing the cart that might cause CST to freak...like some persistence triggering problem or something like that. _______________________ Ron Bickers Logic Etc, Inc.

Hi! I want to use the <dtml-var xyz fmt=structured-text> Tag in connection with stylesheets (css). The problem is that the stylesheets take no effect when the structured-text is activated. The result is always standardtext without any stylesheets only with the elements of structured-text. Is there any possibility to use structured-text and stylesheets together. Bye Steffen

Automatic Cataloging

hi On our intranet site we have a lot of documentation. All workers can upload / change / delete their documents. To provide a useful search I need an automatic recataloging everytime somebody changes something. Whatever a worker adds a pdf-file or a dtml-method / document somewhere on the site, the catalog has to be updated. Authenticated member data

Hi all, I am using Zope2.3.3 & CMF1.1 with ZEO1.0b3. The CMF site was working fine all through. But suddenly, there is a problem in authenticating users. That is, whenever a method such as "portal_membership.getAuthenticatedMember().getMemberId()" or "portal_membership.getAuthenticatedMember().getUserName()" is invoked from a DTML method, I get the following error message. Error Type: MemberDataError Error Value: Can't find user data. Also, "portal_membership.isAnonymousUser()" returns 0. I also checked that "portal_membership.getAuthenticatedMember()" returns the member. But I am surprised that I am unable to get the attributes of the member object like name or id. Has anyone faced this sort of problem? Or does anyone know under what circumstances such functions as getMemberId(), getUserName() returns an error? Thanks for any help & suggestions.
