As far as everything goes, I use Debian at home and RedHat at work. On both, I just compiled python from source and put it in /usr/local/. That way, I keep the 1.5.2 install and set my paths accordingly. As some on the list remember, I was at one point using HP/UX. I do not recommend it (or IRIX for that matter). The hardware is pretty cool, but even convincing python to compile on those platforms was a good challenge. ZpdfDocument query

Dear all, I've installed the ZpdfDocument product, which works fine from the main management interface. I would like to be able to create ZpdfDocuments from calls from other methods, but using the syntax: <dtml-call expr="manage_addZpdfDocument(id='test',title='test')"> results in: Error Type: NameError Error Value: manage_addZpdfDocument Can anyone tell me if it is possible to do what I am trying to or any potential workarounds? Are their any more configurable methods of creating PDF documents from HTML out there that people can recommend? I've had a look at the various postings about ReportLab, but am not sure that will do what I need. My intention is that I can create a ZpdfDocument, which uses an existing method as the 'body'. I have edited the ZpdfDocument.py to do this so it works from the management interface (specifying the method ID to be used), but I would like to be able to do this as part of a process when creating other documents. Weird start-up error

Hello, I am working on one of my Zope CMF products. An accessrule in python script

Hi, I wanted to improve the speed of my sites translating the DTML method accessrule into a python script. But when the DTML method works, the equivalent (?) python script doesn't (always show the default Zope page). Any clue ? Deleting an object from python (command line)

Hi, I made a buggy access rule at the root of ZODB that makes the ZMI unreachable (error in Python script) I want to delete this accessrule so I stopped Zope and... % cd $ZOPEROOT/lib/python % $ZOPEROOT/bin/python >>> import Zope >>> app = Zope.app() >>> dir(app) [..., 'accessrule',...] >>> app.manage_delObjects(['accessrule']) >>> dir(app) [...] # no more "accessrule" >>> ^D but 'accessrule' is STILL HERE ! When I do again : % $ZOPEROOT/bin/python >>> import Zope >>> app = Zope.app() >>> dir(app) [..., 'accessrule',...] # Thought it was deleted !!! Did I miss something ? nested records

Zope has a auto conversion ability on form data that I have been using a good bit however I am running into a problem. I have things nesting now and I need to nest the records zope is auto generating also so that items get dispatched to their correct objects. With just a single level foo.bar:record:type works well however what is the syntax for doing baz.bar.foo in a similar way where baz and bar are records and foo is a string/int/float etc. I tried baz.bar.foo:record:record:string and that didn't seem to work. Mainly I am seeking a dict of dicts approach when some of the dicts in addition to having their own pieces of data also have other dicts that they dispatch to their containing objects. mysql auto_increment adding numbers on its own

I have a ZSQL Method that uses MySQL's auto_increment and LAST_INSERT_ID() features to return the next order number. After my Python Script runs the zsql method to obtain the number, it proceeds to encrypt the order and updates the newly added MySQL record to include the encrypted text. This normally works okay, but somewhat regularly, and for no apparent reason, I end up with anywhere from 1 to 3 records in a row with auto_incremented numbers, but are null where there is normally the encrypted order. The orders are also e-mailed, and there has never been a case where an order was e-mailed and not inserted into the database, so it seems that *something* is causing MySQL to insert records on its own even when no order is being placed. changing password broken

I just updated from Zope2.3.2/CMF 1.1 to Zope 2.4.1/CMF CVS, and on the whole it went smoothly.
