FTP woes

My zope ftp server is really unstable, sometimes it works for some programs, so far the only successful apps that can connect and not crash are bulletproof and cuteFTP. Komodo just freezes. The server accepts the login, but Komodo never recovers from the attempt. I'm running XP with plenty of juice on a cable connection. Any similar probles/solutions.

DCOracle2/ZOracleDA - Unable to create a connection

I'm trying to get DCOracle2 ( latest PR1 ) with Zope 2.3.2 ( a little behind, but running strong ), and while DCOracle2 ( renamed ZOracleDA in lib/python/Products/ ) looks like it is installed okay ( no broken icon in the Control Panel/Product Info ), I can't add a ZOracle Database Connection in any folder. Is is possible to insert multiple SQL statements into a single ZSQL method? opinion: Komodo as an IDE for Zope work.

I tried using Komodo as and IDE for ZOPE today, and it has a remote-files option (ftp, port 8021), and I can get my Zope Script Methods, but since they appear as "MyMethod" in ftp, not "MyMethod.py", they don't get syntax highlighted or anything else, so Komodo basically is a "notepad.exe with ftp capabilities" when used with Zope. Is that all there is? Can anyone tell me of a decent syntax highlighted Python editor with better Zope support? Warren

Catalog syntax querying DateTime instances -- could be broke [ATTACH]?

Hi. I'm trying to query objects in the Catalog that have FieldIndices, effective and expires. this is on Zope2.4.3 and Zope2.5b2. catalog( effective={'query':DateTime(), 'usage':'min'}, expires={'query':DateTime(), 'usage':'max') I dont get anythign returned. using the old syntax of _usage (which by the way still appears in the ZopeBook) I dont really get the right thing either but I can kinda get something. http://runyaga.com/upload_here/catalogTest.zexp jsut remove Catalog create 2 FieldIndices, effective and expires and recatalog DTMLDocuments also it appear sthat the Catalog misreports the #'s of objects with 'effective' indexes. both in the catalog summary report have their effective index. but it only says 1 in the summary of the indexes. I will post a verbose recipe when I figure this out. ~runyaga

Z SQL Method Problem...

Hi! I'm dealing with a very odd problem and I was hopping that someone among this list could please enlighten me on this matter. Somewhere within a DTML method I have to call a Z SQL Method that basically updates an attribute of a specific record on a table (as described below): UPDATE Table1 SET attrib1 = <dtml-sqlvar attrib1 type="string"> WHERE table_id = <dtml-sqlvar table_id type="int"> Whenever I test this SQL Method setting attrib1 with a string containing extended characters (õ, â, í, etc.), I get the following error: Error, sql.error: ('S1000', -802, '[INTERSOLV][ODBC InterBase driver] [InterBase]arithmetic exception, numeric overflow, or string truncation, Cannot transliterate character between character sets') I thought the problem would lie somewhere in the query or in some database definition or property, but when I tested the exact same query with the same input parameters in IB Expert (Interbase Client Tool) everything worked out well. I'm working with an Interbase DB with a common Z ODBC Database Connection. Can someone give me a hint in how to solve this problem? thanks in advance, Vitor Varalonga

My current setup with Zope is that I have the content I need to access in /paws/shop so that /paws/shop/index_html would show up to the user as http://test.gourmetpaws.com/catalogue/index_html The configuration I have been using to do this is: <VirtualHost test.gourmetpaws.com> SSLDisable ServerName test.gourmetpaws.com ServerAdmin root(a)gourmetpaws.com DocumentRoot /home/paws/public_html ProxyPass /catalogue http://24.82.192.244:8080/paws/shop ProxyPassReverse /catalogue http://24.82.192.244:8080/paws/shop ProxyPass /misc_ http://24.82.192.244:8080/misc_ ProxyPass /p_ http://24.82.192.244:8080/p_ ProxyVia on </VirtualHost> And then I just place a SiteRoot in /paws/shop to do the Zope-side remapping of the URL. This setup does work fine, it is just that I seem to have some aggravation with the SiteRoot object sometimes and would like to avoid it. Seeing how nicely I could do direct VirtualHost->Zope mapping with the VHM I was hoping that I'd be able to do something similar.
