WebDAV filesystem access

Hello, I noticed that when you're going to Zope via WebDAV, the files are presented as "rendered", i.e., as they would appear via HTTP. DTML tags are interpreted, for example. What am I missing? This seems pretty worthless. How can you maintain a web site with a WebDAV filesystem, if you can't edit the 'source' DTML pages? Thanks, Derek

Newbie - News headlines on home page

Hi all Zope 2.4.3 CMF I am trying to get a listing of the news headlines to appear on the homepage (similar to Zope.org) I have managed to get the listing to appear and be hypertext linked but when I click on the link I get an 'Unauthorised' error. This is even when I am logged in as the SuperUser. This is how I get the headlines to display <table> <td> <tr> <dtml-with "Applications.news"> <td valign="center" align=left width="75%"><h2><dtml-var title_or_id></h2></td> <dtml-var contents> </dtml-with> </tr> </td> </table> I've checked the security settings for everything and there does not seem to be a problem and I can go to the news page and there are no problems. Thanks Florent. if this has puzzled anyone else.... We changed the zLOG.py script, and Lo! logging is now in localtime. A quick scan through various python script directories shows time functions are all hardcoded as "time.gmtime". Obviously to be consistent, all scripts would have to be modified to "time.localtime", else yur zope envt would be in a right mess. I think someone raised the request prior to 2.4.3 (ie, "Could it be included in 2.4.3?"). One solution of course is to set your machine's "GMT" as the actual local time, and then not need a timezone setting. Zcatalog and getObject problem

I'm getting weirdness with getObject() that i can't find an answer to: i want to troll my catalog to get objects, then interrogate the objects to call methods. In theory i /could/ just shove all the objects in as meta data, but getObject is meant to work me around that. SO here's the problem. <dtml-in db> <dtml-with getObject> <dtml-var id> <dtml-var foo> <dtml-var x_test_method> </dtml-with> </dtml-in> When i run this is get a 'KeyError' because x_test_method is not in the metadata. ('id' and 'foo' get returned just fine and i can call 'x_test_method' from the real object without error). It seems to me like getObject() just ain't working. Am i using getObject() incorrectly ?? or do i have a deeper problem like the fact that my zCatalog is inside a SiteRoot and this is munging the object path ?
