External methods: No place to enter Parameter List?

I was trying out adding External Methods, and it doesn't seem to provide me with a way to specify parameters, the Help file mentions entering a comma separated list in the text-entry-box titled "Parameter List" but there is no such item on the web page. So, how do I do it? Warren

how to install SiteAccess w/Enhanced VHM

I'm trying to install the SiteAccess w/Enhanced VirtualHostMonster v.2; removed the old version--but can't seem to make the new version appear--e.g. I don't see the edit tab and samples. slow month on zopelabs, help!

Hi. the past two months have been particularly slow on zopelabs (the one stop recipe shop). If you have a recipe you have been hording, please find it in yourself during the holidays to share your recipe 8). I kinda made it a goal of mine to hit 300 recipes by 1/1/02. It looks like that wont happen. But I would at least like to hit 200. So we need 6 more recipes. ZSQLMethod, External Methods, Calendaring Widgets, Traversal Magik, Form validation - all are welcome. Anything that demonstrates a 'best practice'. I refactored one persons code whose method signature which took 30 variables down to 1 variable (a mapping ;). thanks, ~runyaga, a Zope Chef

Not sure what might be happening here, but I would check to make sure you are putting the access file in the right place. What OS are you using? What you need is this: Firewall with port forwarding Zope with a vhm You may want: Apache - some claim it is more robust at serving web pages than zopes http server Without Apache: Setup your firewall to forward IP 206.129.200.138, port 80 to 192.168.1.20, port whatever your zope server is running on - 8080 by default. You can override this in z2.py. No need for zope to know anything about your external IP. Install a vhm from the enhanced site access product, v. 2, into the root of your install. Within the vhm, click on the Edit tab, and read the example docs to setup the vhm. It's a really simple, two field form to fill out. The first field is your URL, www.plecouncil.org, the second is the path, /PLE. Thanks it! newbie troubles--apache/zope behind firewall

As a brand spanking new Zopist I'm having no luck getting my Zope going behind firewall with virtual hosting. I've been through this list and zope.org resources and tried most of the code snippets I've come across and I'm feeling discouraged--I hope you can help, I would really appreciate it. Here's the info to give you an idea; I'm not trying to do anything fancy here-- My webserver has an external IP 206.129.200.138 (where Dotster dns is pointed) and internal IP 192.168.1.20 The site I want to host is www.plecouncil.org in Zope folder PLE. question on setting PropertySheet value from External Method

Hi, I'm having trouble setting a property of a ZClass propertysheet from an external method. I can successfully create an instance of the ZClass and from a DTML document set the properties, but I can't seem to get the syntax right for doing it from the external method. Could someone give me some advice? Here are the relevant lines from my external method that successfully creates the ZClass instance: recordID = "7893" t = "A new title" self.resources.manage_addProduct['agnicCatalog'].resourceClass.createInObjectManager(recordID, self.REQUEST) I have a folder called 'resources' that I want to hold all instances of the class 'resourceClass'. The above line works fine to create the instance. But, when I try to change the Title property with: self.resources[recordID].propertysheets['Basic'].manage_changeProperties(Title = t) I get TypeError -- sequence index must be integer I've tried a bunch of variations with recordID, but nothing seems to work. Can someone set me straight? WebDAV and ObjectManager

Is there a way to override an ObjectManager derived class as to not even show up (or, at the very least, not output its contents) in a WebDAV or FTP session? I have a BTreeFolder-derived object with 300,000+ objects; I don't even want to think what might happen if someone tried to open this via WebDAV... emergency user

Hi, I am running Zope on Windows 95. If zpasswd.py is invoked with just the name of the file to modify (i.e access), it will prompt you for a user name and password and the way the password should be encrypted. However, I was unable to actually log into my site when I created the emergency user that way. However, if I invoked zpasswd.py and passed username and password on the command line (along with the file to modify), I was actually able to get in. Thought I would pass this along in case any one else ran into a similar problem. Shilpa
