load_site.py doesn't recognize .jpeg

Hi, Possibly this has been noted and fixed already, but just in case... In Zope 2.2.2, the utilities/load_site.py script doesn't recognize the .jpeg extension - it treats them as plain text files. LocalFS-0.10.1 and zope-2.3.x - subdirectories not found

I have tried updating to zope-2.3.0 and LocalFS-0.10.1 but now I cannot access any subdirectories in my local filesystems - I get resource not found errors when I try to traverse them or their contents. I get the same problem with zope-2.3.1b1. Error message and stack trace are: Zope Error Zope has encountered an error while publishing this resource. How to write a ZClass constructor method in PythonScript?

Inside a ZClass A (extended from objectManager), I define another ZClass B, here is what's in the default contstructor dtml method for B: <dtml-with "B.createInObjectManager(REQUEST['id'], REQUEST)"> ... </dtml-with> Well, I rewrite it in PythonScript, and modify the factory and add_form to point to this new method. The script is like: req = context.REQUEST container.B.createInObjectManager(req['id'], req) I think the PythonScript verion is equivalent to the DTML verion. But in the experiment, the PythonScript complains that B is not a attribute of the container, i.e. an instance of ZClass A, while the DTML works fine. quick question - database connections in python methods & return types?

Hi there, I have a quick question that I need answered concerning the return types of SQL queries executed in Python methods. I am querying/updating a database using Python methods as follows: -+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+ # make a database connection string try: db_conn = self.MySQL_database_connection() except Exception: return "A connection to the database could not be made. <a href='./'> Recover</a>." try: SQL = "some SELECT query" result=db_conn.query(SQL) except Exception: return "The class could not be created.<a href='./'> Recover</a>." -+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+ When this is executed and I "return result[1]" it outputs the data in a format like: [(1, 16, 9, 1)] * return result[0] gives me: [{'name': 'PRACTICALS', 'type': 's', 'null': None, 'width': None}, {'name': 'TUTORIALS', 'type': 's', 'null': None, 'width': None}, {'name': 'ASSIGNMENTS', 'type': 's', 'null': None, 'width': None}, {'name': 'BONUS', 'type': 's', 'null': None, 'width': None}] - the exact details aren't neccessary here I think. At first I had problems trying to use this data i.e. parse it an store it in an array, list, etc. but I overcome that by by first converting "result" to a string using `result[1]`. I was just wondering how to classify the original return type? It is *not* a list, tuple, array or combination of either so what is it? I'm writing a report on my project you see and I can't say that my method returns an *cough* *cough* value ;-) Thanks very much in advance if you can help. Cheers, Lee

Virtual Host Monster problems

I'm having some difficulties getting the virtual host monster object doing what it ought to be doing. My set up is Apache doing proxy pass thing to the magic virtual host monster path names on a Zope 2.2.5 install that's using Site Access 2.0.0b4. What it's suceeding in doing is serving pages from the name virtual URLs; what it's not doing is translating internal page links at all. The wierd thing is that I got the whole thing working without a hitch on a very similar install at home, yesterday. The only differences of note are that this instance of Zope has a few more products installed (can't tell you which at this stage) and that the home install was a fresh name virtual setup, where as the problem one started out as a SiteRoot name virtual setup and is being converted to use the Virtual Host Monster method. So, has anyone encountered this problem before? Does anyone have any idea where I should start trying to fix this problem? John

Problem using AUTHENTICATED_USER

Hi folks! I am somewhat unable to check whether or not the user has manager access to some object object. The following does not work as expected: <dtml-if "AUTHENTICATED_USER.has_role('Manager', _.getitem('.news'))"> <P>Blah.</P> </dtml-if> Instead of getting a true result if the user has manager acces to the .news item (a folder), I get a true result if the user has manager access to his context. Related question: How do I access AUTHENTICATED_USER from Python? Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks, Jérôme Loisel. Parsed XML can't do everything that XMLDocument could yet, but it is XMLDocument's replacement. It doesn't yet work with XMLWidgets, but I hope that it will.
