Newbie question:Java and Zope

Hello all I am approaching Zope and I am very convinced about its features. The only question that hits me is how to extend it outside Python and Perl. Not that I do not like the two languages, but I have already a good investment in Java classes and knowledge, and I was asking myself if it was possible to join the two. Therefore I ask if somebody can give me some idea if possible, how and so on... maybe it is already written somewhere and I'll get the usual RTFM :)))) but nevertheless I'd like to have an opinion. FTP & Logging

I'm trying to convince my company to use Zope on a much larger scale than we have been -- we're using it for an internal dept. website, but I think we should use it for the external dept. website as well. One thing I am not sure of -- we would like the site to include an FTP capability. A customer would be assigned a username/password and would be able to FTP to this site to download patches to our software product. I think this can be set up with Filefolder, but I'm wondering if Zope does any logging on FTP accesses? If someone hit the FTP site, punched in a certain password, and downloaded certain files, would we be able to tell afterwards? Hi On my server I have the same setup. To start Zope on a specific IP address I edit the start script in the zope directory and change the z2.py line so that it reads something like z2.py -a 192.168.0.15 -w 80 -f 8021 "$@" This takes only the 0.15 address and runs the web server on port 80 and the ftp server on port 8021 Ian

Hello- Im a bit new to zope, but it is _awesome_ I tried searching the list ta yahoo! groups, but didnt have any luck. Maybe the list is just too overwhelming... My server has two IP addresses, I have apache listening to the first, and I would like to bind zope to the second. Maybe so...but that is not the issue at this point. The way it is below works well...as long as the dates are hardcoded. I need date VARIABLES to replace the hardcoded values there now. I have tried: <dtml-let year="_.str(ZopeTime().year())"> <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('yearVariable',ZopeTime().year())"> using several techniques and dropping the variable name where the dates are and I always get key errors. I will try your suggestion and one earlier about using ZCatalogs, but it would really help to get this working now until then. Problem w/ MySQL aggregate functions

Hi, I upgraded to Zope 2.3.0 and am having problems with SQL aggregate functions. Solaris 2.7 Zope 2.3.0 Python 2.0 MySQL-python-0.3.2 ZMySQLDA-2.0.4 After upgrading to 2.3.0, I upgraded to Python 2.0 to get rid of the int vs. long issue which caused all int column values to have an 'L' appended to them. Standard queries now work fine, but any SQL aggregate functions (i.e., sum,count,min,max,avg) return a 500 error. No hints printed to the console and nothing in the log. Aggregate functions work fine at the Python command line (import _mysql, etc.). I traced a query from through ZMySQLDA and it appears to be returning the correct result. In Connection.py, I traced the manage_test method through to the end and things seem to go bad at this statement: report=apply(report,(self,REQUEST),{self.id:result}) Can anyone help me figure out how to go about debugging this?
