This runs zope in debug mode and zope won't let go of the terminal. These options are explained in /apache/Zope-2.2.4-linux2-x86/z2.py I generally use something like z2.py -X -w80 to disable FTP and monitor and run http on port 80. You may also be experiencing some problems with pcgi if you are using it with Apache. Newbie needs help with permissions/authorization system

Hi list, I'm a Zope newbie that has to maintain an existing setup. I have a base class BaseClass, and a derived class DeriveClass (supposed to be a generic registration system, I edited the names). That's a simple registration system that stores form info into Zope objects that can later be viewed using a DTML method. The process is divided in three steps: DeriveClass_factory branches to DeriveClass_form method that displays the form. Posting the form starts the DeriveClass_add method that creates the DeriveClass object that has a set of RegisterInfo properties. My problem is that everything works fine when I'm logged as a manager but DeriveClass_add asks for login/password when I'm an anonymous user. If I click on "Cancel", the _add method fails on manage_editProperties() ... Frankly, I don't know what the owner group is for. As for the restart issue, that, we can trouble shoot. Why does it need to be restarted? What platform are you on? What are the flags you are passing to the z2.py start up script in the start/start.bat script? What is the weather like in Timbukto (hot,dry and windy))? Or is that function reserved solely for superuser and is what is meant by superuser? If so, I presume I can add owners for folders I create but not for the root, correct? Hi, Can anyone tell me what the "new" bugg is and how to solve it when installing Zope from source on a FreeBSD? Does this bugg occur on other BSD's as well? Regards, Johan Carlsson PS. It turns out that the only way to do a redirect in an Access Rule is through a raise redirect since the return value of an Access Rule is ignored. Hello Ben. Don't try to hack the ZODB. If you have to start hacking it, you won't be able to stop. It will become corrupt and then the system goes boom. I don't know from your question what platform you are using, but I will try to help. *N[IU]X->Delete your Zope directory. tar -zxvf Zope-2.3.0.tgz to unzip all the files. This should recreate the zope directory. see the Zope Book http://www.zope.org/Members/michel/ZB/UsingZope.html for install intructions. Login as the superuser. Add a user IN THE MANAGE GROUP. **CLOSE YOUR BROWSER** Login as the new user. Away we go... Win32 -> Go to the zope directory and run UNWISE.exe to uninstall Zope. Run the zope installer. This will prompt you for a superuser name and password Start Zope. Login as superuser. Add a user IN THE MANAGE GROUP. **CLOSE YOUR BROWSER** Login as the new user. Away we go... Using LIMIT in a SQLMethod

Hello, i want to use the LIMIT funktion from MySql with a ZSQLMethode. But i'll get an error. Becourse ZSQL makes a second LIMIT in the SQL-string (options in 'Advanced') See, i will do: SELECT * FROM thema WHERE FK_forum_id=1 LIMIT 10,50 But it raises that: Fehler in der Syntax bei 'LIMIT 1000' in Zeile 6 (Error in Syntax by 'LIMIT 1000' at line 6) What can i do?

Not sure if this helps but it sounds to me like you may want to look at storing the data in a rdbms. MySQL, ProgresSQL and Interbase are the free ones (not entily sure if this is true for interbase). I know oracle could do this (but of course it is expensive). I have re-installed Zope *several* times all with the same result. Is there some way I can add users in UNIX, some way to hack it? PLEASE help, somebody.
