Zope memory usage out of control

Hi! First of all let me just say what a wonderful system Zope is. We've been running dot.kde.org on a Squishdot/Zope setup very successfully for a quite a while now. Unfortunately, the admin of the server is getting a bit edgy about the increasing memory usage of Zope and is pressing for action. From the very start we've had to restart Zope daily (with a cron job) because Zope would be using large amounts of memory after several hours. Has anyone seen this kind of problem before? We're using Zope 2.2.1 with the hotfixes on a Red Hat Linux box. Any hints short of switching to another news system appreciated (the SlashCode guys have been on our case). ;) Thanks, Navin. Gettin gZMySQLDA to work on win98

I'm an experienced programmer just starting with zope, running into big trouble getting Zope an MySQL to work on my win98 test-/dev-box. I think the mySQL install is fine, since i tested it with the client that came with it. The Zope install works fine too (i tried both 2.2.5 and 2.3.0). After installing the ZMySQLDA Product, (following the necessary steps for winxx closely.), my Zope-process crashes with a windows-error when i: 1) try to add a database connection 2) try to open a database connection 3) try a test query on a database connection 4) sometimes even when i try to visit the man. screen in my browser. It may have to do with using an incorrect connection string (i'm new to MySQL too), but am i wrong in thinking that even that should not cause win-errors? Also is it me or are the winxx installation how-tos and readmes all telling me different things? (Esp. regarding where to put the .dll and the .pyd)? Any help would be greatly appreciated, as i feel quite low on zope-zen at this point. eric P.S. I already put this question to zopezen.org. I just re-installed Zope. I can add users and all *appears* to be in order. But when I go to log in as said users I CANNOT. Sometimes I can log in as a user other than superuser but *only* if that user has manage capabilities: not owner. What on earth is going on? reading mail with attachment with eudora

Hi, I'm using a dtml method to send a mail with an attachment, it works fine until i use Eudora (mac version) as mailreader....strange problem, Eudora does not recognize well the attachment as the Netscape communicator or VM do. ZClass Containers

I have a problem with a ZClass that is subclassed from an ZObjectManager. I have a DTMLMethod defined in this ZClass called standardDisplay, this shows some properties of the ZClass and also displays an Image (ExtImage in this case) that is contained by the ZClass. This method works fine when called directly on an instance of the ZClass as in http://localhost:8080/xxx/classInstance/standardDisplay but fails to display the Image when accessed through the aquired index_html Method in classInstance so the link http://localhost:8080/xxx/classInstance/ displays the correct index_html (standardDisplay is called from index_html) information but fails to display the Image (it does display the properties correctly) I am using <dtml-in "objectValues(['ExtImage'])"><dtml-var sequence-item></dtml-in> in standardDisplay to get access to the image How come it works directly, but not when called through index_html ? LocalFS on 2.3.0

Our upgrade problem with Zope 2.3.0 in fact was because of the Product LocalFS. After we deleted the single LocalFS object from the old Zope tree in 2.2.5, we could copy the data files to 2.3.0 and continue working without any problem. Interesting point: Before we deleted LocalFS (yesterday) we had a problem in EVERY subdirectory with SiteRoot (we had to manually delete the SiteRoots in 2.2.5 and then add them in 2.3.0). Now today, after we deleted a LocalFS object in 1 single subdirectory (and domain) the SiteRoot problem didn't appear in any domain (out of 10). Is this only a Fata Morgana or what? I cannot imagine, that a single LocalFS object in a subdirectory creates a SiteRoot problem in every concurrent subdirectory. Whatever.
