dtml-tree problems and/or bugs ?

Hi ! The tree tag gives me two problems. The page I wrote basically has the follwing structure: <dtml-var standard_html_header> <h2><dtml-var title></h2> <table align=right cellpadding=0 cellspacing=2 width=280 hspace=20 bgcolor=red><tr><td width=100%> <table align=center cellspacing=0 cellpadding=4 width=100% bgcolor='#FFFFE8'><tr><td width=100%> <dtml-var sitetree></td></tr></table></td></tr></table> <dtml-var abstract fmt=structured-text> <dtml-if abstract><dtml-var login></dtml-if> <br clear='all'> <dtml-var standard_html_footer> The 'sitetree' is another DTML Method which renders the tree: <h3>Overview</h3> <a href="?expand_all=1">Expand All</a> | <a href="?collapse_all=1">Collapse All</a><hr size=1 noshade> <dtml-tree branches_expr="objectValues(['Folder'])" skip_unauthorized> <dtml-if "getProperty('title')!=''"><a href="<dtml-var tree-item-url>"><dtml-var title></a><dtml-else></dtml-if> </dtml-tree> All I want is a table of contents, appearing on the right hand of the page. Everything works fine, but: (1) when I select the 'Expand All' link, the page is rendered incomplete. For some reason, the standard_html_footer is not rendered. In Netscape this ends with the complete page not showing, because the closing tags at the page's end are missing :-( (2) Some of the folders have access restrictions. When I move the header, '<h2><dtml-var title></h2>' down below the tables encapsulating the tree, I get a login prompt. That means that Zope tries to retrieve the 'title' from another entity than the current folder, which is unrestricted. Looks like some variable(s) are lingering with values from the tree-tag operation. Has anybody experienced such results ? Thank you, Stefan.

In fact, they are good for IT people, but most decision makers wont understand them. Have a look at the Windows XP and Office XP marketing. Using zope - how to host?

I was wondering what people do for hosting Zope? I am helping out with a non-profit's web site. I'd like to use Zope to try to provide better/faster control by the 4-5 individuals providing content but how do I host the beast? The service that is hosting their static HTML pages now has never heard of Zope. I see a number of organizations listed on the zope.org web site that say they host Zope but was wondering if anyone on the mailing list has recommendations or suggestions. HELP! Opera 5.02 killing zope

I am not sure why and every other browser seems to work just fine but when opera 5.02 for windows makes a request on my zope box by trying to submit a form the zope server starts to grow at about 10M/s. In the debug screen I can see ZPublisher.cgi.FieldStorage growing 235000 entries in about 20 seconds. rfc822.Message also grows up to about 235000 entries also. Everything else seems perfectly normal. I have tested opera on linux without problems along with lynx, links, IE, netscape, mozilla etc with no problems. Using Norton Internet Security with Zope

Hi, When you try to start Zope on a PC running Norton Internet Security, Windows crashes and the PC is rebooted automatically. Does anybody have a fix fort hat (other then un-installing Norton). Thanks - Henny

syntax of ExtImage

I have been unable to follow the syntax of ExtImage class When called in the same folder in which it exists <dtml-var mgscrdrbit.png> returns <ExtImage instance at 019D8AD0> but I am unable to get img html string result in the form: <img src="http://localhost:8080/04_es/mgscrdrbit.png" border="0" alt="descrip" height="99" width="100"> by using something like <img src=<dtml-var mgscrdrbit.png>> in addition, if called from lower down the tree, giving the absolute pathname <dtml-var /04_es/mgscrdrbit.png> or <dtml-var '/97_swi/bubardot.gif'> produces Error Type: KeyError Error Value: '/97_swi/bubardot.gif' and This resource may be trying to reference a nonexistent object or variable '/97_swi/bubardot.gif'. on the other hand <dtml-in "PARENTS[0].objectValues(['ExtImage'])"> produces all the information Grateful for any guidance as the help file covers alll the arguements, but no obvious (to me) dtml syntax.

Interesting discussion! Perhaps this is an area where the local Zope User Groups should take the initiative? (and then zope.org can just point to the LUGs' info?) One of the proposed functions of the fledgling UK Group is to post on our site a list of sites that are using Zope in the UK, and a list of companies/freelancers who offer services. Case-studies showing the "business case" rather than the "technical case" are another possibility. The resources and case studies provided by DC are a great start, but (particularly outside the US), you can't beat local examples! I like Oliver's idea of a downloadable skeleton-brochure too. Maybe the "marketing of Zope" should be approached in the same open-source fashion as the technical-development? I think more non-techies are joining the club, and this is one way they can feel like they have contributed something back to the community?
