Hi, I have a shedload of File objects all with a dateofpublication property. They are all catalogued an dateofpublication is a FieldIndex. I wonder what the most efficient way to get the article with the newest date of publication is? I had assumed a catalog search as follows would be best: article = Catalog(sort_on='dateofpublication')[0] Can anyone think of a better way? cheers, Chris

STX file issues

My installation of Zope is having trouble displaying certain words of the .stx files associated with the Tuorial (and presumably all stx files). It seem only the last letter of a such a word (in this case the terms defined in the glossary) gets output. All the StructuredText files and regex modules seem to be in order. I've had some help from list members already, but after running the installation file with both python 1.5 and 2.0, the problem persists. Further help would be greatly appreciated. Occasional stop service problems

I have an old client getting a strange error message when they try to stop the Zope service on NT. The message is: Services Could not stop the Zope (Production) service. Error 0109: The pipe has been ended. I believe they are NT 4 SP 6 and the Zope version they have is at least 8 months old. They are also using SQL server 7. Even though the error message indicates that the service cannot be stopped, after I click OK on the error window, the Status column in the Services window goes blank next to Zope (Production) as opposed to "Started." And, the Start button is highlighted rather than the Stop button. One other time this happened I successfully logged onto the website so I suspect the Service is in fact not stopped despite what the Services window indicates. Also, when I have trying to restore a database at this point I have received the error message regarding to the database exclusive access. "Database in Use. the system administrator must have exclusive use of the database to run the restore operation. Backup or restore operation terminating abnormally." The client realized (from Task Manager Process tab) that the process python.exe was still running even the Zope (Production) service had been stopped. They highlighted python.exe and tried to end the process by clicking the End Process button without success. What has worked once before and worked again today is the following: After clicking OK on the Services error message above, I click on the Start button to start Zope again, then click on the Stop button to stop the service. The second time I try to stop the service I do not get an error message and I have no problem restoring gp or starting Zope again. Any help or clues to resolving the issue is much appreciated. This is how you do this in ASP and/or PHP and/or Perl... and this is how it you do that in Python. Not a snip library for the lazy, but an essential Rosetta Stone, to help the new user to get to the "I Get IT" level more stage more quickly. I was able to "get" enough of what Zope does and how to make it work soon enough to continue using it love it. But I still cannot bangout working dtml code the way I can asp pages. I would really love this Rosetta page. SSL Error, SSL handshake failure

Hi, Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. I am trying to xmlrpc with M2 crypto in ZOPE. SF Based Zope/CMF Mentor Needed for Small Dev Team

Hey All, If this is off topic, please let me know. I'm looking for a zope/CMF guru located in the Bay Area who can mentor a team of three developers (PHP, Perl, ASP are their backgrounds). We're building a CMS for a public radio station using the CMF, and want some help getting up to speed. We have a limited budget, and the job would not be a lot of hours, maybe 20 or so. Candidates should have strong Zope and CMF experience, good teaching skills and be SF Bay locals. SDO.NET is a six person web developement startup that's just moving into a new office in San Francisco. We are a worker owned collective, and provide technology strategy consulting, web design, and application development for small-to-medium businesses and non-profit groups. How to keep table aliases apart in an ZSQL method

Hi, I'm having trouble passing a parameter to a ZSQL which uses table aliases. The SQL statement is as follows: select e.empno ,e.ename ,d.dname from emp e ,dept d where e.deptno = d.deptno <sql-group and> <dtml-sqltest e.deptno op=eq type=int optional </sql-group> Now, this isn't working on two points: 1. the <sql-group and> is my own idea, and doesn't work (apparently :) 2. when I put a snippet like <dtml-in expr="emp_list(e.deptno=deptno)"> <li><dtml-var ename> </dtml-in> into an DTML-method, I get the following error: Error Value: keyword can't be an expression Maybe I'm trying to solve 2 seperate problems at the same time, but then again, I still am a very newbie.
