Once you start getting Zope, you put some serious distance between the you and the newbies. The learning curve is less linear and more like a band-pass filter. That makes Zope look harder for newbies than it really is. As you might recall, we had a debate on this list regaring whether or not to create a ZopeNewbies list. Back then I was against it. But your observation (along with mine) has prompted me to reevaluate my earlier negative opinion. Linux-Mandrake has a separate Newbie and Expert list. There wouldn't be any harm in subscribing to BOTH lists. Moreover, a periodic FAQ could be mailed out on the list with all the newbie type questions we see so often (and perhaps forget ourselves from time to time). Just my $0.02. Python trouble?

I've just installed Zope, but when I begin the tutorial, it seems as if some words and link names have been replaced with letters and odd characters. For example: "First you need to create a t for the home page." (t is a link in this case) I assume the 't' was supposed to be a link to some key concept or definition. As it is, the tutorial is now useless. I am EXTREMELY new to Zope and would love to get this resolved. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi, I want to make a tree of my Folder but I want to hide some of them. In fact I just want to see them wich have a property called "titremenu". I've tryed : <dtml-tree branches_expr="objectValues(['Folder']) and hasProperty('titremenu')"> <dtml-var id> </dtml-tree> But it doesn't work. Any idea ? Passing parameters :python script to Zsql method

Hi everybody, I know this is a ricurrent newbie problem, and I have been searching the ML archives, but yet I could not solve it. How can I pass a parameter from a python script to a Zsql method ? I want to perform a very basic multiple value query on a database through the sql "selectwherein" command. I would split the REQUEST into a list, and then pass it to a Zsql method. I have the following Dtml document (named "form_itemSearch") : <form action="search" method="get"> <p>Please enter the following information:</p> Code : <input name="code:string"><br> <input type="submit" value=" Search "><br> </form> Then I have the following "search" dtml document : <dtml-call "process_input (code)"> <dtml-call "search_Item (code2=code1)"> And this is my "process_input" Python script (parameter :code) : import string code1 = string.split(code) return code1 And my "search_Item" zsql method (argument: code2 )is : select * from items where code_item in (<dtml-sqlvar code2 type=string>) If I call the first "form_itemSearch" from the web, I get the following error : Zope has encountered an error while publishing this resource. Hi! I have some problems creating my first product. I've read the Developers Guide and the boring product, but I could not solve 2 problems: 1.) I can select my product from the add list, but whenever I try to add it to the folder (after submitting the add form) I get an error message: KeyError: manage_page_header When I access manage_main via the 'edit' tab of an already created product, this error does not appear. 2.)
