I'd like to hear more about that myself, from the dtml/python gurus. I never get tired of reading the simple explanations for these enigmatic constructs. But then they ruin it by pointing out that there are five other ways to get the same thing--then I'm lost again. :) But I know that _ is the namespace, everything that is to be had is inside there, including form, querystring and envirnment vars. And using [] is a way (I think) of saying return the text of the id rather than the object it represents. But I stand corrected in advance for probably being wrong or too narrow in this explanation. There's a number of different i18n packages on zope.org - ZBabel and Localiser (sp?) I think are two. See if either of them suit your needs. Anthony >>> "A. aquisition+init problem

I am facing a problem while tring to develop a product.I want to use an attribute of the parent of my object but the problem is that i want to use it in the __init__ method.The problem occurs due to the fact that i am tring to use aquisition over the object while it is not "ready" because __init__ isn't over yet.(for example there is no attribute self.aq_parent meaning that aquisition can't be used yet ). In particular i have a folder containing a database connection and in the same folder i am tring to create an instance of my object.In it's __init__ method i want to contact the database and create a table for example.The problem is that the database connection can't be found because as said before there is no aquisition yet. So if i want to do something while constructing the object using a function that requires an attribute of the parent what should i do? images as properties of a document.

I am wondering how I might create a property of a DTML Document that is an image. In the standard implementation of a DTML Document, the properties can be strings, lines, text etc. I would like to create a new type of document with the ability to create a property that is an image and upload it to the page as you edit the property. Can anybody suggest how I would go about this? I have not created a product before, but I am game to try. I am really looking for some hints and tips. Perhaps an existing product that is similar that I could copy or subclass. As a further explanation, I am trying to create a very structured template page. The end user simply edits the properties of the page and I create the templates and how it renders by modifying the index_html method. I have looked at ZPT and they dont seem to do exactly what I want. TIA Tom Cameron

DTML Tag sqltest wrong documented?

HotFix? for commit_sub

http://zope.nipltd.com/public/lists/zope-archive.nsf/ByKey/F198A5DC70BC2D53 ...speaks about a new version to loose the problems with commit_sub when uploading large files. I can't just install a new version on our server, but a HotFix will do. Is there one? I know how to create my own HotFixes and I've looked at the difference in the code in Transaction but a bit afraid of doing the right thing. Some help please. Peter
