Dear List, i am using zope2.3.1, python 1.5.2 and interbase adapter gvibda096. I am accessing an interbase DATE type column via a zsql-method and want to reformat the returned date (yyyy/mm/dd), but i can't figure out how? Stupid question? :)

Alriiighty. What i'm wanting to do is to put up a 'news' table for the side of my page -- think, www.zope.org -- 'News'? :) The way I have it set up is a News/ subfolder, with an Items/ folder beneath it that has a group of dtml documents in the format of YY-MM-DD.SS, with a title that describes what the news is about. SS is a serial number, btw, in case there's more then one news in a day. Now, the News/content_html method should basically build a list, and transform the id into "MM/DD/20YY (#SS) title". HotFixing methods of modules (not classes)

I read and used this http://www.zope.org/Members/Caseman/Dynamic_Hotfix This works great for changing methods and stuff inside classes, but what about stuff that isn't inside the class? (Maybe more of a Python question rather than Zope) --- module.py ---------- def manage_addSomething(self,id): self._setObject(id,Something(id)) class Something(SimpleItem): def __init__(self,id): self.id = id del somemethod(self): return "hello" ---------------------------- This I can HotFix like this: ---- hotfix: __init__.py -------------- # import class from module import Something def myown(self):return "Hello!" Something.somemethod = myown -------------------------------------- But it is this that I can't get to work. Here I need help: ---- buggyhotfix: __init__.py -------------- # import function from module import manage_addSomething def myown(self,id): id = string.upper(id) self._setObject(id,Something(id)) module.manage_addSomething = myown -------------------------------------- it's the "module.manage_addSomething = myown" part that looks like the evil thing. Idea for a new "basic" class

During my process of discovering Zope, I have made quite a few products. I have allways found that there is a lot of repeated functionality and code just to get them up and running. I have an idea for a "basic" class to be added to the Zope framework that sets up the most comonly used mixin classes, and sets up sensible default values for them. So to make a very simple Zope product you just need to write:: from basic import basic class minimal(basic): meta_type = 'minimal' And it would set up a fully functional product with id, and title as default vales. manageAdd, manageAction, manage_editForm, manage_editAction, and index_html would also be included by default. If you want to add more properties you would just overwrite "_properties" from basic import basic class minimal(basic): meta_type = 'minimal' _properties=( {'id':'title', 'type':'string', 'mode':'w'}, {'id':'summary', 'type':'text', 'mode':'w'}, {'id':'content', 'type':'text', 'mode':'w'}, {'id':'author', 'type':'string', 'mode':'w'}, {'id':'url', 'type':'string', 'mode':'w'}, {'id':'email', 'type':'string', 'mode':'w'}, ) And the manageAdd, manageAction, manage_editForm, manage_editAction, and index_html would change dynamically to fit the new properties. Taking the minimal needed code to get started from something like 40 lines to 3. Does it sound like a waste of time to write this class?? I think it would be fairly easy, but would anybody use it? Browser Cache problem or ZServer problem

Server: Linux 2.4 Zope 2.4.0b3 Browser: IE 5.5 Problem: some graph files won't load when viewing some pages. If I clear the browser cache, the problem goes away for a period of time. Viewing the server log shows that these graph file requests have an HTTP response status of 304, which means the file hasn't changed. Is this a browser problem or a ZServer problem? How to filter unwanted strings within a form's textarea?

I need my local users to create content using html tags within a textarea, but I don't want them to include links to external images resources. My idea is to enable a filter that looks for the "http://www.whatever_ext_site.com" string within the img tag, and then erase it before posting the whole form data to the proper method. Is there a simple way for doing this? (If not, what is the hard way? :) ) Thanks in advance, Ausum

Hello, I'am a new user of zope, and I have a problem with a package which I had download : it's a software product "jcNTUserFoder" (Authenticate users on NT). I have 2 NT servers (one in NT4, the other in Windows 2000). jcNTUserFolder is working correctly on NT4, but I have a problem for Windows 2000. I can't install it. Can you help me please, if you have already install jcNTUserFolder (create by Jephte Clain) on Windows 2000, or if you have an answer to my probem. Thank you.
